Last of the Portuguese wines tasted with Dan and Filipa at there home.
Dark purplish ruby red. Powerful and dark nose on day one, with a mix of spices and sweet spices such as anise and vanilla. Bramble berries on the nose as well. Day two the nose softened quite a bit but gained a perfumey elegance to it. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Tons of layers on the palate with a dark blue and black berry attack, herbs too and a nice spiciness. Dry and long finish. Drink till 2027.
Made up of 41% Tinta Roriz, 38% Touriga Nacional, and 21% Alicante Bouschet. Aged in French oak for 16 months. Only 200 cases produced. — 9 years ago

Only white of the wines tasted with Dan and Filipa at there home. Orison, does not only produce a Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill, they also make a few wines from the Alentejo region in Portugal.
Bright pale yellow. Seems like a touch of oaky influence on the nose with integrated citrus notes and mineral undertones. Moderate acidity (5.5/10) and medium bodied. A little toasty/creamy on the palate, layered with stoney and citrus notes. Great texture and medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2020.
Made up of 40% Arinto, 30% Antão Vaz, and 30% Alvarinho. Aged for 12 months in stainless steel and 6 months in neutral oak. As well as aged on the lees. Only 600 cases and $21.00. — 9 years ago
Juicy bunch of flowers, interesting and different! — 11 years ago
An old-vine mandatory drink while in Portugal! Bical grape planted on clay & limestone and Cercial and Sercialinho planted on sandy soils. One day this will be the Lord of Sabaoth for those thousands of kiwi sauv blancs and bland pinot grigios. I honestly worship the wines of Luís and Filipa Pato and I am only to sorry for not drinking this wines more often. Had this with an humongous plate of bacalau that I couldn't possibly finish, I needed to leave some room for the wine. #luispato #beira #vinhasvelhas #portugal @WineTraining @Dusan Bradanovich — 11 years ago

Last of the wines tasted with Dan and Filipa at there home. Delicious juice in this bottling from up on Pritchard Hill, more specifically from the Gandona Estate vineyard.
Super dark ruby red with a powerful and dark nose. Layered with dark cinnamon and vanilla, dark cocoa, super dark berries, graphite and gunpowder. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Luscious palate with layers of blue and black fruit with some nutmeg and dark gravel. Long and lingering finish. Definitely needs some time to soften up and integrate further. Drink till 2030. Only 80 cases produced and $85.00. — 9 years ago
