Wow, what a deal at < $20 / bottle
Wine spectator says
#69 of top 100 of 2014.
A burly, brambly red, underscored by tarry smoke and underbrush notes, offering flavors of blackberry coulis, herb-marinated black olive, grilled mushroom and ground spice. This shows muscle that recommends it to short-term cellaring, made accessible by integration and balance. Drink now through 2024. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

Tell me more about this great goat god's vino! He is looking like a serene Krampus, and I love the wicked intensity of Valle d'Aosta reds and their heirloom grapes.

I have an enduring sweet
infatuation for the alpine wines & little known grapes of this Franco-Italian region. This one co-ferments all these grapes:
Barbera, Freisa, Ciliegiolo, Dolcetto, Gamay, Petit Rouge, Fumin, Premetta!

Inzolia makes me a special kind of happy. Reminiscent of my Sicilian roots, the perfect balance of acidity, sweet, tart, and delicious. So perfect with these oysters. — 6 years ago

Valle d'Aosta Petite Arvine

Nate Wall
9.0

Honeydew melon, apricot, mandarin orange, pear, hay, subtle white flowers. Having never tasted Petite Arvine, this was fuller, richer and lower acid than I was anticipating for an “alpine white”. Almost caramel apple like on the palate. I see some similar characteristics with Savoie Altesse. Interesting. — 6 years ago

LXXIV Antichi Vini Pugliesi Primitivo di Manduria

This is an amazing wine and it is one of my favorite ones to bring to dinners. It is robust tannic fairly big and opens very quickly. As a cousin to the zinfandel it shows as it is extremely drinkable despite it's large tannic quality. Elements of black fruit and pepper remind me of both the zinfandel and the Shiraz. Anyone familiar Shirah from the Rhone Valley should definitely give this one a try. The only thing I will say is that I enjoy it with friends and less you can finish the bottle by yourself. It dies fairly quickly. — 8 years ago
