Nice plum and cherry compote nose. Bit of bitterness. Dry and chocolate-y. Some funky-town. Southern French style and done well. — 8 years ago

Weekend treat #2. More forceful than yday’s Felton Rd, dark, compact, almost black olivey. Needs 3y. — 10 years ago
First time trying an old Felton Road and a Block 5 courtesy of Can. Forest floor, some black fruits. Great concentration with depth and intensity of flavour. Good length but never felt over-blown or heavy. Shows why this wine is an icon. 94 points — 10 years ago
Umm, not dry. Can't remember how much sugar, but it's about medium dry. Very good, too - mellow lemon, honey tones from age, generous, fresh and juicy through the palate, shapely and with bags of charm. — 10 years ago
A clean dry wine with a very smooth citrusy finish. Fabulous. $13.99 at Empire Wine. — 10 years ago
Empire good. Service off. — 11 years ago
No petrol on the nose. White & yellow florals, soft, subtle, fresh, citrus of; lemon, lime, grapefruit, pineapple, light stone fruits and light, soft minerality. On the palate, such freshness of fruit; pineapple, lemon, lime, grapefruit, stone fruits, melons, gentle and soft minerality. The medium body & finish is pure, elegant, round, lush, exotic & sexy. Not to mention perfect acidity. Photos of another perspective of the properties sensational vistas, Sofia walking the grounds and the Cellar Door. — 7 years ago
Received this two years ago from the no-longer-extant Empire Wine Cellars club. This is a delicious, balanced, well made, structured wine. At $28 it's a complete steal. Damp earth and dark fruit along with velvety textures and lip-smacking fruit concentration. If you like cab franc, you need to take a peek at Onabay. — 9 years ago

Light soft oak line, lemon, green apple, orange, bone dry acidity, mineral, wet stone, creamy, lovely finish, 2011 — 10 years ago
Still plenty of fruit. Sweet black cherry and spice. A nose reminiscent , strangely enough, of a Charles Hiedseick NV champagne — 10 years ago
Dry in the German method and great weighted fruit, despite falls over for me at the end. — 10 years ago
something about kiwi charddy and its matchstick flint nose that I love and Felton Rd. does it well. lovely palate. thoroughly enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Best of both worlds. Violets, cherries, dust light leather. Boozy! 14% I believe. Lies off after about 30-40. Super delicious and different. — 10 years ago

Crisp, refreshing, and mineral. Light red berries and dusty/chalky character w/ tons of acid. — 9 years ago
Sundried tomatoes with some dried oregano and herbs. Little bit of olives. Acid is nice. Sole cranberry sandal wood and Rose hips contrast and no so subtle mineralality. The kekfrankos is the Same as the blaufrankisch. 1530s the bull's blood wine. The story goes that the people were surrounded, drank all the wine and charged an attack against the Ottoman Empire. Killed the head of the snake and they scattered. Not sure if the legend is true but it's The only town in the Ottoman Empire area that has been left pristine. 😏 regardless it's a darn good wine — 9 years ago

Collio DOP 2011, 14%. Bottle taste in November 2014.
Beautiful color, luminous and slightly green.
Typical Sauvignon nose: leaves of tomatoes and geraniums.
Grapes were slightly overripe, short cryomaceration, aged large barrels. Very elegant in the mouth, with taste of sage, but I must admit that I am a Sauvignon lover. This wine won important prizes in France: very well deserved in my opinion. — 10 years ago
Just speaking from me personally taste this my favorite sparkling wine ever. Made for Imperior house in Russian Empire. Blended 11 grapes and the taste just crisp acidity, red apples and a hot of swiftness in aftertaste. Not a method traditional, but very nice sparking! — 10 years ago
