Could not fathom a white blend as good. Exceptional build on all fronts. Honeysuckle, fig and quince. Far more complexity than words can articulate. That's why it's served last during a tasting! Palate filled with brioche, slight frame of cream and white peach. Follows through with a defined finish displaying pinpoint acidity. Wonderful! One of the best I've tasted. — 9 years ago

Supposedly this vintage can last 50 years. I'd be 85. I can't imagine what that would be like, nor is my palate advanced enough to fathom what this wine will be like in 2062. Cheers to hopefully finding out. — 11 years ago
A great surprise. Did not expect to find a wine with a delicious taste of juicy citrus and flowers, but also seemed to show a sense of place. I cannot fathom why there is so little Aligoté left in Burgundy. — 8 years ago
14 years did this wine good. Smooth, rich dark berry, breathing in vanilla and caramel. — 9 years ago
Was impressed and surprised by this white blend. The perfect table wine for a summer lunch. — 10 years ago
Pretty damn solid -- can't fathom $750 for their new releases, but this older, less stellar Napa year might be worth it. Incredible density and length. — 12 years ago
It was hard not to be both anxious and skeptical going into to this... I don't think there's many (if any) Cabernets from anywhere on the North Coast available under $100 that received a 97 from Robert Parker. Tasted over 7 hours with 6 friends and alongside the 2014 Venge Silencieux. The Venge was the favorite, unanimously. However, this was only a couple lengths back. A thick perfume of kirsch and cassis, with dusty character that follows through as licorice and smoke on the palate. A very good Cabernet, a great example of Alexander Valley, and an extraordinary value. I just can't fathom this is better than 4 out of the 8 Cabernets produced by Schrader in 2014 that Parker scored 94-96. — 9 years ago

Turley always brings the A game. I can't fathom how this can be 16.2% ABV; it doesn't taste hot at all. 2012 with Sandra and Trev. — 11 years ago

This was a transcendent Riesling experience. The best Merkelbach I've ever had, and it's still so young. The best description I can fathom is the ripest kiwi ever with a sprinkle of sea salt and the pure essence of red slate. The characteristic spice is definitely there but hiding in the background for now. The utter depth, concentration, extract, and searing acidity make it unforgettable. — 8 years ago
