Sour red cherries, wild strawberry, horse shit, mushrooms. Wild acidity. Years ahead of it. Fresh. Vital. — 9 years ago
Excellent drinking now will only get better wait a few years. — 9 years ago
This is an inarguably great wine. And all the more impressive to me that it is stylistically not my typical leanings. Serious power, depth, balance - still so young - and I'll be damned if this wine isn't mindblowing in 10 years. Bravo @Fritz Hatton — 10 years ago
Magical. Concentrated white grape herbaceousness slight hint of vanilla and fantastic acidity. Comes back up your throat with a kiss that lingers and linger. Bravo Genevieve! — 11 years ago

Limestone and flint, some fresh turned earth. It opens with tannins, black peppercorns, purple plum skin, and ends with light red fruit, possibly pomegranate. — 7 years ago
Just a great table wine, esp for the price. Fruit flavor, not cloying, good balance with pepper. — 8 years ago
Excelente cerveza, con notas de naranja y un retrogusto dulce. — 9 years ago

First time trying an old Felton Road and a Block 5 courtesy of Can. Forest floor, some black fruits. Great concentration with depth and intensity of flavour. Good length but never felt over-blown or heavy. Shows why this wine is an icon. 94 points — 11 years ago

Venge definitely doesn’t miss the mark with this fine Syrah. Finest Rhone I’ve enjoyed all year in fact! Dark, brawn and restrain. Will be a great one to buy and lay down as well! — 6 years ago
14 drinking near peak of mature brightness and silky tannins - really balanced front to back...I really love Melville! I think it’s the most underrated winery in the US likely! Really expressive and nice pure fruit! — 6 years ago

Ooh la la! Fantastic crisp apple-pear fruit laced with a streak of minerality and beautiful richness and length. Lovely now and sould last another 5+ years. — 10 years ago
When compared side by side with Liparita's less expensive Rutherford Cab release, V Block can be likened to a parent's favorite offspring. Although both wines may share similar genetic material and upbringing, V Block has gained more dimension and self confidence through increased care and attention from infancy. #ridiculous :p — 11 years ago

This wine is dark and savory. The black fruit comes along with cedar, vanilla and a chalky earth tone. Nothing like Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, but more in line with Paso Robles. Lots of South American minerals having a bit of roughhouse here. — 5 years ago
