Crimson in color with the slightest bit of orange. Opened up over 3-4 hours, still has room to cellar. Rustic nose: herbal notes, bloodorange, cherry, but not overly aerobatic. On the palate, is more viscous than expected, with red fruit. Tannins are there, but acidity is just as prevalent. Much better when pair with pasta. Enjoyable. Casual night. — 10 years ago
(**) a white wine made from Pinot Noir (blanc de noirs) that actually behaves very much like a Pinot Gris, e.g., med + body with softer fruits, mostly peach and pear, with a soft shimmer of bubbles to tickle the tongue. A nice winter white. — 10 years ago
Relatively young vines - reminds me of the rawness of Virginia can francs. Spicy and edgy out of the bottle. Great with food - I wouldn't take this alone — 12 years ago
Smoky pear, yellow apples, fresh cut hay on a verdant farm the day after a rain. Lemon croissant with a brush of glazed sugar, lemon zest, chive, and satin petals of azalea outline the perfume. There is a freshness of clean, laundered, sun-dried whites. Medium mouthfeel with distinct white pepper, extra virgin oil, tart apple, lemon essences, peach skin, culminating in a silky dryness, full of tangerine and kumquat piths. Serve with substantive fare, and spiciness. It has the unction! #oltrepopavese #giorgi #CannetoPavese #bianco #Riesling #rieslingfix #italianwines #italianwhite #italianwhitewine — 8 years ago

"Meskhetian Wine"-- a gently spicy dry red wine from the #Meskheti region of #Georgia. Made by Giorgi Natenadze from the region's oldest native grapevine-- an imposing gnarly 400 year old tree. Giorgi seeks out these long neglected vines in a region where many were destroyed during a long period of Turkish rule. Many thanks to McKinze Cook & Sean Fredericks for bringing back this very special bottle. 200-900 bottles per year. Dinner @kachka — 10 years ago

One of the greatest Italian wines of the Tuscany region. Good with pasta and bbqs... ;) — 13 years ago
Olive tapenade, wet leather, ripe red plum and black cherry tart, cola with dark rose aromas. Medium mouthfeel with currants, dried black cherry, black olive, button portobello mushroom. Firmly tannic, with a dried violet, and bitter blood orange/pekoe. #northernitalianwines #barbera #croatina #buttafuoco #italianredwine #TreDonne #Giorgi — 8 years ago
Light green olive, lillies, peach blossom , lovely texture, dried lemon, stony, steely, chalky tangerine. Grapefruit and aspirin, but only enough to cure any headache life throws at you. Festive bottle holding fireflies that shoot lightning right into your face. Great bubbles from a solid producer! — 10 years ago

This is a beautiful Cortona Syrah - I am having the 2009 vintage. Ranges of blueberry along with well-ripped fruit and plums. On the palate it is nicely balances with tannins that makes it a perfect match to pair with red meat dishes. Was also rated by Wine Spectator and received 89
