Nose is off-putting, dominated by minerals, very steely starts with some petroleum which quickly dissipates when exposed to air, very little fruit at all. But taste is surprizingly pleasant with lots of astringent tannin up front, rasperries and plenty of acid. Long astringent linger. Very pleasant — 9 years ago
JL Southern Rhone tasting 11/15/16. Good complex nose with earthiness and acids and red fruits. Long finish that's supple and still fruity. Good value $34. Expressiveness covers or add wine exposed to air. — 10 years ago
Still young of course, so the oak will integrate more, but incredible nonetheless. Focused, intense mineral (reductiveness), and tart citrus fruit. I would imagine leaner than the better exposed premier Cru, but maybe being a deuxiemes Cru has its own rewards these days? — 10 years ago
Old vines, 100 years, exposed on the South side of the hill of Cornas, a rarity since most face West. As Vincent told me, the vines have "a lot of maturity," so the stem can be kept. Grown on a 40 percent grade. The stemminess is detectable, with the wine being balanced between vegetal, green characteristics and subtle unripe red fruit. Slight hints of savoriness, but not as much as some from the AOC. Tasted straight from the tank with the winemaker - this will begin bottling one week from today. — 10 years ago
So, it's like 60 degrees outside plus massive rain on this mid-December day, with Christmas around the corner. Lisa and I are splitting the French presentation by Chef Chris @ sweet Lauren's Soundside, Steak & Seafood (and more) Restaurant (our amazing local bistro in west Morehead City, NC) where the food is only outdone by the people! For us, it's a large chicken breast with hand-handling drumette😎 and broccolini dipped in an old favorite, (but crazy good when it's good) French onion soup (amazing)! Then there's the wine working its magic making all this good stuff exactly what it was meant to be😎! It's a sensuous nose of coarse chocolate hiding in a lid-bag (words from yesteryear) opened, nakedly exposed and sensually inhaled at the same perfect moment of biting into a late-spring perfectly-fetched strawberry followed by a similarly chocolate-coated Bing cherry, all at once luxuriously coating the front of the lucky drinker's mouth, as it starts a sexy, slow dance home - near magic, but somewhat unfortunately interrupted by a strong hand-to-throat tannic twist that tightens and squeezes either enticingly or curtly (depending on how you like it) as you fantasize another pour, perhaps another year (maybe the 10) where you might languish, linger in a sweaty finish (a good night or a wine fantasy - your choice...)
Cheers! PS inexpensive, but expressive... — 10 years ago
Very clean taste. Only exposed to the skins and stalks long enough to impart the red color. Few tannins resulting in a soft taste on the mouth. — 11 years ago
Wonderful earthy wine!! Opened up and exposed more fruit. An absolute pleasure! — 11 years ago
Red cherry rose petal from east exposed vineyards in ginestra light andy easy drinking with pretty perfume and good freshness and structure. Finish 35+ very good+ — 13 years ago
Got exposed to this in Bohlgeri. They make great wine. — 8 years ago
Bottle was a little exposed, but still good — 9 years ago
Great balance between the sweetness of a moscato and the tartness of a skin-macerated white. As the wine opens up aromas really become exposed. Tastes better at cellar temperature than refrigerated. — 9 years ago
Great wine pairs well with most things we eat. Flavors change for the better the more oxygen it gets exposed to while you drink. We've really enjoyed it. — 10 years ago
Holy Tannins, Batman! Once exposed to some air, this big guy really opened up and got better. Otherwise, it was pretty tight and gripping. We had this with grilled steak, and it was a beautiful experience. Highly recommend decanting or aerating. — 10 years ago
Good day to start off February needed for me. I'm not accomplishing anything great today after this beauty.... Sediment was very very exposed! — 10 years ago
On opening, the alcohol stank was overpowering. Not pleasant. (Exposed to heat?) 24 hours later, it's really singing. Great concentration of fresh fruit, little leather, good if understated acid. Delish. — 10 years ago

Gosset is a fine champagne house that I have only recently got exposed to, I can regret what I missed or try to catch up :-) as you can see I went for the more pleasurable option. The excellence is indeed excellent, lovely light gold color, a fresh stream of small sexy bubbles, appealing nose full of lime, grapefruit, apple, yeasts and healthy dose of minerality, on the palate smooth and fresh, silky yet tingling, fresh finish. My score 90. Drink when you feel like having a fresh pleasure. — 11 years ago
Beautiful golden color with substantial body. Honey and apples on the nose. On the palate more of the same but quite complex with a lingering finish that exposed something like sweet lemon and an earthy depth, yet pleasantly sweet. Delicious. — 12 years ago
8 year old fino. A touch of oxidation. Flor has digested more of the nutrients in the wine and while the floe is alive some spots are exposed to air — 13 years ago
Not a fair test, slightly exposed. — 8 years ago
So rich on the nose, yet lively and spirited on the palate. Definitely a bit over my head, but certainly fun to be exposed to. — 10 years ago
The '13 took a minute in the glass to open up, but a very smooth and mild cab sauv is exposed when it does. — 10 years ago
Super exposed to trade winds, Canary Islands, some of the only original root stock, very fun. The Mission Grape — 10 years ago
unique for mourvedre, for all mourvedre, not just Cali. it's amazing. unique indeed, maybe due to the native fermentation of the house, but unlike anything you could possibly ever find. stone fruit and blood orange citrus upon opening; too reminiscent of white wine. then, guess what, it changes dramatically and evolves beautifully. cranberry and grapefruit acidity; much more savory after it's been exposed to oxygen for a few hours or days. this wine is a flavorite of mine from La Clarine. — 11 years ago
Very full. Dark cherry. Taste improves after several hours exposed to air. — 11 years ago
Cloudy light raspberry colored. The nose is a little leezy with tones of smoked bacon, soy, baked bread, straw, and coffee. The palate shows more fruit with dark cherry & pomegranate, but also some savory characteristics of cured meat, smoked bacon and toast. Seems a tad closed right now - maybe decant to get some more fruit exposed in the nose or open in another year or two. — 11 years ago
Really nice bubbly from Anderson Valley. Very restrained initially, started showing some fruit after being exposed to air for a while. Light, refreshing, nuanced acidity. Made with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. — 12 years ago

Naked and exposed to its vineyard site, in the best possible sense. Still shy. Better in 2020. — 8 years ago
