Clos Canarelli

Corse Figari Red Blend 2013

Great wine, it makes you fall in love, again and again, with wine. It's the beautiful wine that you knew existed, and then you found it... For an explorer of wine, it's a great feeling! — 9 years ago

Chateau Potelle VGS

Explorer The Illegitimate Red Blend 2012

So what do you call a Bordeaux Blend from Napa - ""The Illegitimate"! This is a fun wine. Nicely blended with up front fruit and smooth / soft finish. Has character like a classic French wine with Napa twist. Pairs well with many foods - so versatile. — 10 years ago

Box

The Explorer Single Malt Whisky

This tastes rather special. Despite it's young age it feels well aged. Fruity, spicy and with a hint of peat which gives a dry finish this shows what is yet to come from Box. Quality whisky. — 10 years ago

Case Basse di Gianfranco Soldera

Pegasos Toscana Rosso Sangiovese 2005

Notes of raspberries mixed with raw meat, and dry thyme leaves. Fresh raspberries and mature strawberries, velvety texture with tobacco aftertaste. Very balanced and long finish! Interesting wine, perfect for the wine explorer! — 11 years ago

Christophe

Explorer's Series Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Man. This, was one of the boldest Cabs I have ever had, but that was most likely do to it's young age. Made by Marco Digiulio, who also makes Raymond and Lakoya; this is an "explorer series" focusing on single AVA Cabernet Sauvignon. BIG and intense nose, with notes of fresh cracked peppercorn, charred oak, and mocha, all thrust forward by a rush of ethonol. The pallet was very dense, and still fairly tight, with high alcohol, fine grain (might I say dusty) gripping tannin, and exhibiting notes of ripe blackberries, Mediterranean herbs & spices, burnt espresso bean, vanilla/caramel, gravel dust, and an everlasting finish. I feel I needed to decant this one much longer than an hour..but overall I give this a 92 because I believe in 2-5 years, this wine will drink much more in its prime, and will be an impressive message in a bottle. — 10 years ago

I didn't realize the name I typed when writing this and then carried on about the wrong cradentials.. my fault. I meant to say this is the guy who makes "The Calling", "Raymond", "Guirard", and "Lakoya"! Thomas Rivers Brown makes Round Pond, Wallis, and Hestan. Just happened to notice my mistake while reading through some of my past reviews. I fixed it though!

@Mike Rowe that being said, it was still big, bold, intense and right up your alley. Cheers!
