NV wine from Behrens Family Winery. Love this producer for making some seriously deep and complex wines that have just about anything to complement anything! This wine is massive, and ready to go! Fruit forward but not a jam bomb. Nice chalky and still youthful and expressive blackberry fruit. This one shows complexity from the middle to the finish where a toasted oak and chocolate mocha note kind of kick in. Really good with dinner but huge with dessert. If this isn't my one and only Erna Schein left, it's close! Very nice wine!! — 7 years ago

@Shay Aldriedge, their creativity is ridiculous, and their wines are really quite unique. They will have some labels that carry from year to year (Spare Me, Blender Boy, The Heavyweight), but they have a lot of new creation wines from year to year that are all really beautifully done. (Lisa Drinkward is the femme in the Les and Lisa couple, so you know quality is amazing). I haven't ever had a bad wine from them. I had a few people tell me that one label was good and the other was bad, etc, and for several years I would only order The Heavyweight or Spare Me (they're the two that have been around every year since I've been ordering).

@Shay Aldriedge - you can't go wrong with any of their wines - their almost all amazing - but I think you would especially like their Labor of Love - Pritchard Hill sourced Cab Franc dominated blend.

'Cemetery' is Les Behrens wine sourced from Abreu-Cappella Vineyard in St. Helena. The most aromatic and elegant wine I've ever had from Behrens (B&H, Erna Schein, Behrens Family) but not lacking in structure and concentration. Beautiful wine. — 8 years ago
