Les Coteaux St. Joseph Syrah 2012

Great value. A little bit funky on the nose and with nicely developed fruit and structure. — 10 years ago

Incredibly layered stuff, with teeth-staining minerality, balanced by rich fruit flavors, bordering on tropical with plenty of grilled lemon juiciness in reserve. Never-ending finish with a complex tannic grip providing lift and energy. Thru 2020, at least. — 11 years ago

L'Enclos Savennières Chenin Blanc

Not always the biggest fan of Chenin, but this is the real deal. Clean and precise, loaded with orchard fruit and white flowers, and satisfying weight. — 12 years ago

I disagree with you about the Chenin not being awesome all the time.

I have a relationship with Chenin similar to what I have with Can Franc: I tend to like more polished, cleaner, more 'serious' styles of the grape. And when I like it, I really like it. But there's a lot of stinky, lazily made Chenin and Cab Franc out there.
