Love Croatian wine so much, such a diverse region. The server described this as sandy and minerally, a risky wine, and the chance was well worth it. Gooseberry, lemon, yellow flower on the nose, a bracing palate full with yellow orchard fruit, sea salt, and white stone. Long finish. A win — 8 years ago
Yummy and delicious but not my favourite from elephant island — 8 years ago
Lots of dark berries and a little Liquorice. Plenty of length and well balanced. Would happily sit for 5 - 10 years from this great vintage — 8 years ago
Loads of Turkish delight on the nose. Dry, clean acidity, lingering flavours of spice — 9 years ago
NZ haul 1 of 9. Tastes good in the Midwest, but better in New Zealand. — 9 years ago

Lovely mix of fruit and spice. A nice mouthfeel and sculpted tannin structure. Full bodied enough to enjoy with New Zealand lamb! — 8 years ago

2014 rich blackcurrant flavour. Not sweet but not dry either. Just perfect! Would go well with a heavy tomato based meal — 10 years ago

Smooth right out of the gate. — 12 years ago
Pure, lucid copper-gold. Pear, orange zest on the nose. Clean orchard fruit on the palate with some very slight grapefruit pith. Med to med+ acid. Excellent structure and some notable length. All around terrific bottle. — 7 years ago
Green pepper, orchard fruit, delicious and well balanced — 8 years ago
An elegant blackberry and cassis nose. Lush deep red colour - good overall mouthfeel with good bit of tannin. But well balanced. Best of NZ yet. Will continue to develop over the next 5 plus years - if you can wait. — 8 years ago
Some leatheriness already which is surprising, plums and blackberries, medium tannins, moreish but not mind blowing. — 9 years ago
Recognizable acidity and palette weight that you look for with a Cetral Otago PG. chalky and blue fruit. Bit of orchard fruit as well — 9 years ago
Dry French style cider aged in oak, slightly fizzy. Excellent, but Oak adds a bit of astringency that I'd prefer not be there since it muddles the mineral and fruit flavored of the unoaked version. — 10 years ago
Elephant never fail to impress. lovely very bright juicy raspberry and blackberry. Spiced plum, b pepp, smoky, more liq. Deeper, denser. lighter in style. Has b pepp in abundance. Gorgeous style. Outstanding with Telaggio cheese (or most soft rind cheeses I'd wager) — 10 years ago
Another great bottle with a great mate — 12 years ago

Tart appley yet petrolic nose. Smells like dancing through a rainy granny apple orchard on a crisp fall morning! Refreshing lemon delight! Beautiful forward astringency and minerality that lifts with slight sweetness just before finishing delicately and softly floral, a surprisingly whispered closure for such bright opener. Clean with delightful complexity.
Pairs beautifully with spicy poke, wasabied yellowtail sashimi, curried Indian cuisine... or with turkey dinner! — 7 years ago
