Last one - still very rich, smooth and very pleasant — 9 years ago
Rich and meaty, complex, and delicious. Had some nice spices at the finish. The fruit was ripe and rounded. Really a good red with meat. — 10 years ago

1/2 ton per acre from a dying 80 year old 1 acre vineyard. — 11 years ago
Mid gold, nutty peach with a little oak, dry, good acidity. Using Rhone varieties this is definitely Aussie and Elderton have made a successful wine! — 11 years ago
Potent still peppery blackberry & eucalyptus, it. Could use a flank steak charred still!!! — 12 years ago
Very black wine. One of the darkest I've seen. Very complex wine. Dark black currant, blackberries, strawberries, cherries, very bold cocoa/chocolate. Smells extremely hot, spicy, red fruit. Medium long finish and medium plus acid. The longer it's in the glass, the more flavors that come out. Really blown away. — 8 years ago
Quite light, medium extract, very much dried sage. — 10 years ago

Very very good deal for the price. — 11 years ago
Totally shocked by the youthful vibrancy still evident in the opaque cherry red '96 Elderton Shiraz 'Estate'. Lovely aromas of ripe plum, clove and dried red fruits lead to a mouthful of sweet oak, eucalyptus and sage flavors. Well resolved tannins primed the tongue to the satisfying medium-plus finish. A most pleasant surprise! — 12 years ago

At the Elderton Tasting and Dinner at the Downs Club hosted by co-owner Cameron Ashmead. I preferred this GSM to the Entry Level Shiraz with its sweet plummy earthy fruit and supple tannins. A crowd favourite on the night. — 8 years ago
