Smoke, fat, and coffee. Nice earthiness and back end fruitiness. — 7 years ago
Juicy, succulent with layers of texture. Black cherry and licorice with smoke, vanillin, and red rose petal. Really unique palate.. smooth and almost airy but with a beautiful cherry fruit texture. Blind, I would have guessed this to be the spring mountain, honestly. 100% single block Oakville vineyard. Nothing like regular oakville and I love it for that. — 8 years ago
Blackberry, smoky. Deserves to be open for like 45 mins before serving. — 8 years ago
Very nice blend. Super good for a cheapo twist top. Will buy again — 8 years ago
Chocolate, blueberry, pepper. Exquisite. — 9 years ago
Decanted and waited 2 hours for this tightly wound up boy to turn into a gracious gentleman. A lot of blueberries and hickory smoke — 10 years ago
Dark and earthy with a little barnyard or might have actually a little Brit to it in the nose. Big rich with licorice and berry taste and nice finish. Got it in Spain at the winery and not imported to US. — 10 years ago
Lovely and smooth. I prefer to drink it on it's own rather than with food. — 10 years ago
Fabulous summer wine. Had in Ibiza, Spain. — 11 years ago

Was highly skeptical of trying a cheap Texas wine, but was pleasantly surprised. Albariño is one of my favorite white grape varietals, and after learning that Spanish and Portuguese grapes do particularly well in the Texas climate thought I’d give it a shot. Crisp, very refreshing, Happy 4th! — 7 years ago

Cooked plums, preserved dark berries, plums, smoke, cigar leaves, super well aged, soft tannins, — 9 years ago
The more I drink of this, the more I like it. Not as much of a bomb as the Prado Enea, but equally exciting. — 9 years ago
Had this immediately before the Prado and found this to be more lively than the Prado. The best way I can describe it was that this had a more cheerful personality while the Prado was a more brooding wine. Great wines both of them. — 10 years ago
Good Tempranillo with Repsol. — 10 years ago
Tuoksussa vahvaa tammea. Maku nahkainen, vahvasti tanniininen ja lämmittävä. Alkoholi ei tule selvästi läpi vaikka kyseessä 15 % pullote. — 11 years ago

This is a super hard Rioja to get your hands on (think Rocking Horse 💩) & is Mugas top wine only produced in top vintages so I was quite happy to find this & some 2015 as only around 5,600 bottles 😮 it’s not cheap at £120-£155 but I’ve been chasing for ages! Having had the amazing Prado Enea & Torre Muga in 09 I couldn’t wait 😊 The verdict? It’s a monster 😈 but will benefit 5-10 years more age 😉

Absolutely brilliant. Clear cut bouquet and tannins. No frills, honest and easy accessible. Deep flavorers of berries. — 8 years ago
Oh Torre Muga. When the audience is ready for Mike Tyson you deliver with a knockout -- but when the audience is looking for finesse your power seems childish and brute. Tonight was not a Tyson night and Prado enea won the day. A fantastic wine, but be prepared for big and powerful. There is little nuance in this beast — 8 years ago
Actually surprisingly great for a mystery red sold at €1.50 a glass with no proper label. Herbal and spicy on the nose with just a little wood, brambly and wild with hints of violet. Great poise and acidity on the palate with some prickly pepper and fresh cut herbal notes, and no clumsy tannins or bitter tang like some inexpensive Spanish offerings. A winner, and a perfect compliment to jamón iberico de bellota. — 9 years ago
A: Dark red with cherry reflections. Clean and nice. 4/5
S: Equilibrated smell, some sourness and sweetness, although it follows the sourness a bit more. A bit of alcohol and cherry. 3.75/5
T: The taste is pleasant. It has a nice equilibrium between sweetness and sourness, although I believe its closer to sour wines. A little alcohol taste, and some wood (close to cork) 3.75/5
F: The feeling is nice, pleasant for an everyday wine. 3.75/5
O: Very nice, we can consider buying it again. 3.75/5 — 10 years ago

Along with Prado Enea, the best garnacha-focused Rioja. Note the Arzak endorsement ;) — 11 years ago
