Unoaked Tempranillo

Goes down easy without being dull. Stood up to roasted lamb and mushroom tart, but isn't heavy. Definitely better after oxygenation. Let 'er breathe! Wishing I had a case of this. — 6 years ago

El jefe Tempranillo Blend 2014

9.3

On the nose, rustic style mixed red fruits & blueberries, loamy soils, tea, a core of dark currants, licorice and fresh dark florals. The palate reveals a little more oak use. M body with M-M+ tannins. Fruits are a blend of blue fruits, dry cranberry & rhubarb, dry crushed rocks, wood shavings, steeped tea, touch of saline, violets, roses and a long, lean, beautiful, elegant finish that holds.

How does it compare to Temp's from Paso?

His expression is ripe and not as rustic. Also, lighter bodied.

El Corazon Winery

Columbia Valley Grenache 2012

Lots of pepper, raspberry, and a touch of cedar. Could still cellar for another 3-5 years easy. Another great effort from El Jefe and El Corazon. — 10 years ago
