WNH rosé night.
FÆTHM’s Steel Trap rosé of Grenache. One barrel production. According to the release today, there won’t be a rosé this year.
Deep orange with pink hues in the glass. Aromatically, it’s fairly intense as it sports blood orange, grilled rhubarb, citrus spray and sea salt. This is a Rosé that works best at a certain temp...when too cold, the acidity was ripping and the fruit was muted, but when too warm, it lost structure and heat was noticeable. Spiced red fruits, white pepper, and orange blossom on the palate. This reminds me of a heavier version of Cayuse’s Edith rosé. — 5 years ago
Intense apple cider bite. Delicious! Not too thick for an ice wine. — 7 years ago

There is nothing that Henschke Winery can't produce at the highest level. Remarkable wine. Now I need more. — 10 years ago
Easy to trust Realm’s offerings as quality is always at a premium. I have to admit, my brain had a hard time connecting this type of rosé with Realm (based on their typical style).
My comment above isn’t meant to be good or bad, it’s just amazing that this Provençal type rosé could come from a bigger/powerful style Napa producer like Realm. Kudos to Benoit for knowing what he was going for and being able to create something (a beautiful rosé) from almost nothing (the extremely uneven 2020 vintage). I don’t think I could have called this rosé of merlot if I didn’t know beforehand. To me, this was a blend of high end Provençal rosé with Cayuse’s Edith rosé. Extremely pale salmon color in the glass with aromas of cantaloupe, white peach, faint dragon fruit and an herbal/mineral stony character. The palate here has nice gravitas and a surprising bite at the finish. Strawberry cream-lite, underripe kiwi and some nectarine on the finish. Much more enjoyable at cellar temp compared to being too cold. Don’t think this is one to hold, so enjoy now. — 4 years ago
Purchased this little gem while traveling and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
Bright with fresh berries on the pallet. The finish is slightly bitter.
I must admit that I'm in a hotel room during an early snow in Kansas, listening to Edith Piaf on my bluetooth speaker. Thus, the only glassware available is your typical thin plastic hotel cup.
But, I cannot complain. I truly cannot complain.
Cheers. — 6 years ago
Very impressive. Still has great acidity to balance the sweetness. Entry is on orange peel and the finish is nutty. Very long and delicious. None of our invitees ate cake they all decided to just sip on this as we listened to Edith Piaf. A very memorable experience. — 7 years ago
Date night in Paris at the Harvard Club in New York. The grandiose main dining room was transformed into Paris for a night where the would-be Edith Piaf singer covered all the hits. The menu was earnest in its reproduction of French classics, and as lethal as steak tartare followed by steak frites might be, "non je ne regrette rien". A Bordeaux was a must. With some age and from a brilliant year, this straightforwardly delicious wine was a nod to some of the classics from the vintage. Une belle soirée. — 9 years ago
