Louis XIII. Over 1200 separate eaux de vie ranging in age from a minimum of 40 years to over 100 years. Intense nose of rose petals, sandlewood, fig, caramel. Palate is rich and velvety with nice spice and layers of flavor. More spice flavors such as cardamom, cinnamon and white pepper on the back of the palate. Finish is long and mouthwatering going on for several minutes. A rare and refined spirit to be sure. — 9 years ago

A very very nice, beautifully elegant wine. Citrus notes on the nose, buttery, toasty, oaky flavors. There might be a hint of spice somewhere, very complex! Could age for a long time. Great pairing on scallops, poultry, even crème brûlée. The creamy texture and the buttery, lemony characters on the palate are really pleasant. Loved it! — 10 years ago
