Cranberry, strawberry, raspberry, earth, mushroom, spice and pine needles. M+ acid, m body, m- tannin. Lean, red fruit, but creamy. Balanced. M/long finish. — 9 years ago
From the famed Prichard Hill estate vineyard, this 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a cult wine, rubbing shoulders with Screaming Eagle, Harlan and Colgin. The nose is typical of Napa Cab, with rich aromas of steeped blackberries, cassis, saddle leather, spice box and carmelized brown sugar. On the palate, it's silky, sexy and nicely balanced. There is a lovely, polished interplay of fine tannins and glycerol, along with darker notes of saddle leather, cedar, and espresso beans. Medium plus finish. — 10 years ago

Full bodied Pinot Noir from Silver a Eagle Vineyard in Russian River — 11 years ago
"Le Pich" is a Wappo Indian word for "golden eagle". While the Le Pich Cabernet is the minor - league team for the Purlieu Vineyards- this 2009 is an absolute knock-out. Beautifully well rounded and just brimming with soft & chewy cherry tannins- it's a stunner. — 12 years ago
Never heard of this grape. Should buy a bottle for Kevin. — 8 years ago
Aldler Fels 2014 The Eagle Rock Pinot Noir, made by winemaker Aaron Bader, is a beauty. Bader calls the making of good Pinot is “both a physical and mental exercise.” He’s not shy about tooting his own bottle. “It's sexy, luscious, with that sweet perfume, a hint of maple syrup, and lush fruit.” Maple syrup? I can have that for breakfast!
For this wine, he blended three-quarters Sta. Rita Hills Pinot from Santa Barbara County and one-quarter grapes from the Russian River Valley.
The Pinot is hefty and dark, with a nose that exudes black raspberry, black olive, coffee, tea and anise. Maple syrup? Well, now that it's in my head, it's in my nose. On the palate, wow. Ripe fruit, those olives, black tea and black pepper. The savory angle continues into the finish and carries plenty of sweet oak spice with it. — 8 years ago
Tart with a cherry taste and sweet end. Good food wine.... We forgot the food. — 9 years ago
Screaming Eagle vs Jonata ?? In a few years maybe - this wine is a great expression of the terroir at their perfect ranch - awesome with cheese, meats and some roasted fruit #jonata #screamingeagle — 10 years ago
Smooth and jammy. A consistently tasty product. Not a hint of metallic. Tried again after 15 years and was definitely impressed. — 7 years ago
Another 4th Friday for the books! Insane pulls this month to follow up the most epic month (April) that we’ve ever had!
Would love to open this against a Rivers-Marie Pinot. A lot of black cherry concentrate and pepper. Finish is very acidic and young...the RM shows a tad more fruit and complexity on the mid-palate. — 7 years ago

Color of concentrated black tea. Nose is high quality bourbon with sweet apple, mesmerizing aldehyde, paint, powerful alcohol and spice in nasal cavity. Taste is extremely smooth, with toffee like sweetness wrapping the tongue, zest, sweet apple, and a bit salty mineral. Aftertaste has even more toffee sweetness, a bit heat. You can hardly tell she is 90 proof. — 6 years ago
