Well balanced, delightful minerality, slightly toasty notes. Floral, fine mousse. — 7 years ago
Oh yes. Love it. — 7 years ago
Maybe not as amazing as when it was just bottled (which was the last time I had it), but still so fresh, pure, and gulpable. Gamay is so transparent. It really channels the minerality of the terroir it’s grown in. Goes well with my Popeyes spicy chicken (crazy night). — 8 years ago

The 2008 Extra Brut Les Lumières Grand Cru is a blend of 65% Chardonnay (from Avize and Mesnil) and 35% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ) that spent ten years on its lees before being disgorged and given just the smallest touch of dosage. Creamy, resonant and expressive, the 2008 has so much to offer. Even so, it clearly needs at least a bit of time in bottle to be at its best. Tropical accents provide a hint as to where the 2008 will go over the next handful of years. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, December 2019) — 6 years ago
2016 Sami-Odi ‘Hoffmann Dallwitz’ Syrah. 8 hour decant. Massive nose. Explosive mid-palate. Phenomenally silky texture. Smooth tannins. Stop watch still running on the finish. Just beautiful! And much more open for business than I expected. @Fraser McKinley has it goin on! Label: ‘Our first ten years’ – Painted by Andrea McKinley 1980, Fraser McKinley 1984-1988, Tui McKinley 2014-2016, Mahé & Ribo McKinley 2017. — 8 years ago

DOYARD - purchased direct from the winery - 1995 vintage disgorged 2007 - 12 years in bottle. Good pop of the bottle. Golden, amber hue. Nose is super complex, butterscotch, herbs (dill, anise), and and huge salinity, with some mandarin orange. Absolutely smacking. Palette is huge. Truly expansive body - acid so balanced. These Carmel and tangerine notes happen. The finish is long and tannic. This is a unicorn bottle. Excellent. — 7 years ago
Maybe not for the purists but this is stunning and I love it . It’s had 15+ years ageing and has old yeasty nose which is stunning. Not as sweet as you would think especially when paired with desert - almost dry feeling and certainly evident quality of the wine. Not much left on the open market so snap it up and try it while you can. — 8 years ago
(16.5/20) Ароматы груши конференции, базилика, мякоти лимона с нотами сдобного теста. Высокая кислотность и меловая текстура. Во вкусе провал. В целом, очень неплохо. — 9 years ago
Revisiting the Mahé & Ribo Syrah in honor of Sami-Odi taking the number 4 slot of James Suckling's "Top Australian Wines Of 2016." It's now had an additional 8 weeks rest in my cellar since I last sampled it shortly after its arrival to our shores. Wow! Inky purple color with a brooding nose of dark fruits , anise and sweet spices. Super silky tannins which perfectly compliment the dark fruits. A luxurious mouth feel bordering on savory-ness. Full-bodied and vibrant with beautiful structure. Lingering finish. This is not your classic/typical "sweet" Australian Shiraz ( my guess is that Fraser harvests rather early), but the fruit purity and overall structure speaks for itself. Congrats Fraser! I look forward to a long relationship. — 9 years ago
