Not as hop-forward as expected but a good beer overall. On the unique side it has a nice tropical fruit finish and it's smooth. — 10 years ago
2015 release, Outstanding!!!! Bastard on crack, this what Stone does best, big, bold aggressive beers, only for those who like this style, maybe you are not worthy — 10 years ago
Super hops meets super stout. Very hoppy, chocolate, and hints of coffee. — 10 years ago
Pale ale. Bright citrus, fruity hops (but not overwhelming), apricot, overripe peach, bitter notes and a hint of fresh herbs. Good stuff. Happy to see the ABV @ 5.5. Great daytime beer. — 10 years ago
The best beer this brewery has put out, so far, all their beers are very good, this one is excellent, in the style of a double west coast IPA, four different hops, and a perfect balance of a big malt backbone, very impressed, last year only on tap, now in 12oz 4 packs, — 11 years ago
Great IPA.

Was very excited to finally get this in my area, on the west coast, Founders is a highly regarded craft brewery on the east coast, Grand rapids Michigan, heard so many great reviews on their beers, KBS, Double Trouble, so go into this review I expected quite a lot, I must say I am not disappointed, but here on the west coast we have much better IPA's, not putting this beer and the east coast down, hey, that is where I was born and raised, this brew is typical a east coast beer, brewed like a west coast beer, dry hopped with only Centennial hops, very much a staple hop on the west coast, Cascade hops on crack, so to speak, so I am very familiar with this hop character and taste, fruity, Citrus, back end has that tobacco finish, extremely dry, a very well done IPA, I am not disappointed, Founders deserves the high rating they get with their beers, I really can see why people on the east coast love this beer, they are seeking on hoppy beer that sometimes they cannot get from the west coast, Very good, I with be waiting for some more from this great brewery, KBS, and Double Trouble on my list — 10 years ago
From my good friend and co-owner of this winery we tasted an -08 in Vermont!
Clear ruby color; powerful, complex, earthy with lots of blue/dark fruit on the nose; high alcohol (feels like 14) and well-integrated supple tannins; oak is moderate only little new. Great job! — 10 years ago
Warm hoppiness — 10 years ago
This double goes well with extra cheddar gold fish. Very well — 10 years ago
Nicely hopped, balanced, double IpA , a delicious find at the Grafton cheese shop in Vermont. — 10 years ago
My favorite double IPA, from my favorite brewery, yes I am if you did not know, a big "Stone Head" I go visit this brewery very often to fill up my Stone Growlers, and pick beer that you can only get at the brewery, and of course "Enjoy By" which you can only get all the time in CA, or the brewery, this is the beer they released in 2010 to celebrate the anniversary of Ruination, it is much more hopped up version of that, big big hops, almost 11% ABV, big tropical and citrus notes, Awesome brew, only for true hop heads, this one will ruin your pallet for sure, glad they decided to release this now every year, once a year, so stock up like I did, you can get it now, the one few beers I give a perfect score, 10 out of 10, Excellent!!! — 11 years ago
Juicy juicy juicy. Best SYP wine I've had so far. — 11 years ago
Cattlemans double deuce, unfiltered wheat beer. Lite but full body, this is a beer you will have to chew. Only been able to find it at Cattlemans in OKC. Unique beer — 12 years ago
Double trouble. Short decant, tight and reluctant first 30 minutes with not much depth, then opened beautifully and put on weight and complexity. A front load of cassis, then bruised plum and warm wet earth. Suggest 3 hour decant to let it strut. — 9 years ago
Pine, hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and a touch skunk but great with Sichuan! — 10 years ago
Just awesome. Craft at its best. — 10 years ago
Fun times — 10 years ago
One of the best IPAs around, in my mind. — 10 years ago
Very sweet sake. It's perfect for those that have trouble with the typical bitter taste of sake. — 10 years ago
Love this beer, Stone's Famous lank mark strong ale "Basartd" 17 Adversary, combines all three "Basartd's to make the best of all, big fresh hops, because it is only released fresh once a year, big west coast style, leans more to a double IPA, but rich Carmel malt backbone, just awesome brew, nails the best of all three — 11 years ago
Great great brew from the big up and coming brewery in San Diego, so many great breweries in SD, this is like all they do, Fantastic stuff, almost perfect double/ imperial IPA, get this brew right now!!! — 11 years ago
Very good with smokey jack burger and chipotle aioli mayonnaise. — 12 years ago

This is in your face West Coast IPA, here on the west coast we honor and cherish this beers, these are the ones that started the DIPA beers, this brewery in fact was one of the first, West coast IPA's San Diego brewery, multiple locations, Associated with Port brewery and Lost Abbey, big hops, big malts, we still crave and need these beers, when everyone else is going to the tame and mellow DIPA's it is very good to see this brewery remaining true to what they do, Just Like Stone brewery, in cans, big plus, stays fresher longer, All IPA's and DIPA's should be in cans, Excellent DIPA, in the style, West Coast all the way, no mistake of that — 9 years ago
