1942 Tequila Añejo

Has to be THE or one of the best tequilas around. Carmalized vanilla flavors, incredibly smooth and a long finish. One of the best sipping tequilas and you don’t need a chaser. — 5 years ago

Ruination Double IPA

Surprisingly, I kinda liked this despite my aversion to overly-hopped beers. The nose is a straight up hop-bomb - floral, citrusy, piney. The palate's also full-on, with heaps of hoppy bitterness, but balanced by malty sweetness and tropical fruit notes (passionfruit and mango for me). Finishes crisp and earthy. Not bad, but not my kind of beer (not an IPA fan basically). — 6 years ago

Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese Blend 2009

Olga Tuttle
9.9

Sicilian wine from the base of Mount Etna. 95% Nerello Mascalese, 5% Nerello Cappuccio. Soft but chalky, earthy, more low tones, herbaceous but not too much. Medium body, slight rhubarb, but again- not in the way wines can be when they are too young to drink. Really lovely wine. Apparently, the winery is no longer making wine due to lack of interest from the family heirs. — 12 years ago

As I understand it, their vineyard's been purchased by Marco de Grazia from the excellent Etna label Tenuta Della Terre Nere-- so the grapes are in good hands! Mmm, Nerello Mascalese!

McCormick Ranch Carignan 2012

This has got to be the most refreshing red wine I ever had...with jamet CdR trailing shortly behind. No minerals here for contemplation but lord am I high on acid right now! This one's all about the judicious decisions very obviously made by the winemaker here to extract intensely on what most would consider grapes just barely hitting ripeness. Clocking in at a whopping 12% alcohol I could drink this all day everyday. Ultra clean strawberry dark cherry lemonade this one. Highly pleasurable and highly unique. Ate it with just about everything in my pantry just for fun and all of it worked. Definite recommendation. Another one up for american winemakers 👍👌 — 10 years ago
