Following an ‘04 Ponsot this stood out as a sore thumb.
I had double-decanted this for 8 hours and it still wasn’t enough.
Insanely concentrated and almost Rhone-like.
I’ll try to stash away a few bottles for the long haul (read: 20+ years) but honestly don’t think I’ll ever live to see this at peak. — 8 years ago

First vintage of Ponsot Montrachet and first bottle opened in the U.S! Tasted on 2.1.13. Bottle with extra security 'Domaine Ponsot' imprint on bottom of the bottle, synthetic cork with name, tracking number and heat exposure tab. Serious about anti counterfeit! Wine had power, & soft honey glow. Hope to taste again in 20 more years but only 388 bottles made. — 13 years ago

The 2nd of 4 Grand Crus from Morey Saint Denis. Colour of deep Ruby - darker than the Lambrays. Quite a rich palate of M+ intensity. Great mouthfeel. At this point I wrote in my notes “ getting to the point of sensory overload. Let me tell you that 2016 is a great vintage for Red Burgundy “. A wonderful Clos de la Roche”. Worth purchasing as it is always better value than the Ponsot Clos de la Roche. — 6 years ago
