Field blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Beurot, Muscat and Pinot Noir from the Engelgarten, a vineyard with poor, gravelly soils located just outside the walls of Bergheim (about 10 miles north of Colmar, in the Haut Rhin). Pure, expressive nose with notes of citrus, rubber and minerals. Intense, dry, textured. Slightly ripe. Long, saline finish. — 2 years ago
This Sancerre has one foot in the litter box and one foot in chalky soil. Intense nose has a bit of cat pee, but also some intense and bright minerality and ultra crisp gooseberry fruit with a squeeze of freshly cut lemon. Round yet very lively in the mouth. Great interplay of sharpness and mineral texture. Long finish and nicely-integrated acids. A wine you can love and yet not like a little bit. — 4 years ago

Started off with sour cherry, lavender and the unmistakable smell of motor oil on a driveway. The mouthfeel was dry and minerally, but elegantly so, with a beautiful finish that balanced fruit and tannins. We paired it with steak but this would go well with anything. — 4 years ago
