Generally regarded as one of Australia's better Pinot Noirs on the basis of its perfumed nose and plummy medium bodied palate with lovely silky tannins. Could identify with @Ira Schwartz note recently of aromas of boot polish. I used to say varnish but I think we are on the same page. Great Pinot. — 9 years ago
Syrah blend to cap off the bachelorette weekend. Smoky spice with a long finish. — 9 years ago
"Coup du Foudre", when lightening strikes, is extremely accurate as a name for this wine. This one was a present to myself, for I have finally finished all my TWP exams for Total Wine! Which means, A.) I'm a Total Wine Professional now, and B.) The beginning of my sommelier journey!
Okay. Now to this monster of a wine! Originally a Heidi Barrett project, and owned by Danielle Price and John Schwartz, the owner of Amuse Bouche winery. This 2009 is slightly different from the current blend, consisting mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a proportion of Syrah, and then Petit Verdot. Upon entry into the glass, this wine is one of the most concentrated, dense, blackened purple color in the glass I've ever seen. Extreme concentration, and deep stain of the legs. The nose was jetting out of the bowl exhibiting notes of green pepper, cocoa powder, stewed blackberries and blueberries, baking spices, Spanish cedar, and olive. The pallet was teeth staining and very full, showing a full spectrum of layers constantly changing; ripe blueberries, plum, red currant, leather, anise, and an everlasting finish. This guy needs a big decant, in the ball park of several hours. Drink now through 2025.
Bisous!

The 2009 vintage is 100% Tempranillo and 14%ABV. From Ribera del Duero DO and vinified Crianza style with 15 months bottle aging subsequent to 1.5 years in French Oak barrels. This wine is elegant and integrated at only 7 years since fruit cultivation. This wine is rich and luscious with deep red fruit of cherry and red berry, baking spice, olive brine, and a hint of fresh cut spruce tips. This wine would be a perfect accompaniment for a Canadian Christmas tree ritual or a festive holiday evening dinner party with braised beef AAA pot roast or rack of lamb and braised root vegetables. With well balanced fruit, medium acidity and medium tannins this wine brings complex aromatics as well as refined mouthfeel of finesse to a structured backbone and elegant minerality. With persistence of briny green olives, deep ripe red berry and spice, this wine has a long finish which keeps giving back. Giving a festive Canadian twist, recommend pairing with Schwartz Montreal Smoked Meat brisket and Kosher pickles. — 9 years ago
Very even keeled. No negative steely after taste. Happens to be excellent ice cold on a hot summer day. — 10 years ago
Thought tonight I would try a Riesling from one of my favorite areas of Germany in the Mosel. In this area was probably the first wine that got me really started back in the early 80's, it was. Zeller Schwartz Kats. This wine tonight has the aromatics of Honey, White Peach, Jonagold Apples, with hints of floral notes. When the wine rolled over my lips across my tongue I am getting a bit of viscosity that I like with a good silkyness. Peach, pear and a citrus zest come across in a big way and wet rock minerality and a light acidity that doesn't rip at the tongue. This wine has brought me back to those early 80's. — 11 years ago

Amazing! A blast of apricots, scent of flowers and a refreshing acidity. A 2006 that evolved a lot! Fantástico! Uma explosão de damascos, perfume floral intenso e mantendo uma acidez refrescante. Evoluiu super bem em garrafa nestes 9 anos. Quero mais! — 10 years ago

To quote Stephen Schwartz from his musical Pippen: "Glory, Glory........Glory, Gloooorrrryyy!!!!!" Holy shit. DRC is always last to pick in Montrachet and the wine is expectedly ripe. Almost tropical fruit. Lemon pie. Over a minute long finish. Had almost 5 months ago and can still smell it. — 12 years ago
Oily and beautiful. Not brimming with acidity that will shoot to the stars, but it's softer palate feel is welcomed and very pleasant to sip on. — 8 years ago
Honey on opening, opens up to citrus blossom, lemon and lime, white flowers. Slight wet stone minerality. Chalky acidity and as it warms a lovely rich mouth feel with super crisp finish. — 9 years ago
Lovely fruity unexpected pinot noir — 9 years ago
Following discussion last week re Chablis @Ira Schwartz this 2005 Vaudesir Grand Cru showed very well. Nose of mineral/oyster shell with cut white flower notes. Restrained elegance with softening acids. Less is more! After 6 hours starting to show honeyed notes and not dissimilar to a top quality Australian Chablis style like Cullen Kevin John Chardonnay. Chablis is 2005 vintage. — 9 years ago
• 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Saint Bris "Mont Embrasé"
• Domaine J.L & J.C. Bersan
• Saint-Bris-les-Vineux
• Burgund
— 9 years ago
@Gerry Schwartz i think you would like this moscato! — 10 years ago
Very good Brut BdeB. Green apple, lemon, flowers, fine but strong bubbles and solid enough to go with food. Escalope de fois de canard, legumes d'ete au satay, Lieu jaune, chorizo iberique con case ecume de lait, a la nepita. — 10 years ago
