Domaine Gangloff

Réserve Côte-Rôtie Syrah - Viognier Blend 2012

Very primary and ripe. Heaps of red and black fruits, with black pepper seasoning. The palate's spicy and developing some meaty, earthy characters. Juicy acid and oh so silky tannins. Goes down the wine hole far too easily. I feel that it'll be magical in a couple of years.

Note: Probably didn't do this wine justice by tasting it against the Gangloff, which was absolutely enchanting.

Simply stunning from one of the best. A tremendous wine with structure and integrated fruit — 11 years ago

La Seréne Noir Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2012

There's something very animal and unusual about this Cote Rotie, yet it manages to seduce instantly. By far and away the best bottle of a big flight in spite of its young age, with nice aging potential. Outstanding. — 9 years ago

La Serene Noire Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2009

Slight floral quality to the edgy sweetness and gorgeous black fruit. I suspect some co-fermentation here (Viognier). Lovely, lively, and lithe on the palate. Plenty of acids here, so this will pair with nearly any meats. Just to reiterate, this is not your typical Paso syrah (no offense), but an elegant rendition of the grape. — 11 years ago

Théodore Vin de Pays de l'Hérault 2009

I truly never thought I'd see a day I was happy Gangloff was sold out, but today was that day because my server recommended this instead. I have never heard of the domaine and it was SO EFFING DELICIOUS and I will find more. — 10 years ago

Collines Rhodaniennes Marsanne 2011

Superb Marsanne. Fatter and less complex than an Hermitage (at this stage) but also more forward on what I'd normally think are secondary Hermitage characteristics. 30EUR at La Grande Epicerie. — 11 years ago
