Having visited the vineyard, I have fond memories whenever I enjoy Vrede en Lust wines, but this one is such a pleasure to enjoy. Smooth with a South African twist! Love it! — 9 years ago
"a must drink," says Steve. A little funky, very tasty. Purchased at Septime la cave. — 9 years ago
I am not usually a fan of Chardonnay, mostly because it is often aged in oak which I'm not fond of. However, the bartender recommended this particular Chardonnay and told me the story behind it and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to drink it again! — 10 years ago
Always been fond of Paloma after enjoying such a lovely tasting at the estate with the owner surrounded by hummingbirds and feeling like part of the family! Enjoyed the last of our three bottles of the '07 with Bill and Amy during graduation after we did a little Coravin blind taste. Soft and definitely ready to go. Delicate red fruits and very mellowed acid and tannin. — 10 years ago
All Grenache. Very easy to drink, not very complex. Great alone. — 11 years ago
Very generous wine, charred oak came through quite pronounced however. a beautiful and rich wine with a very 1990 feel. I am fond of the 93 over the 90. The Griotte is totally killer — 11 years ago

Celui ci il te colle un uppercuts direct en pleine tronche! Très puissant, presque trop, faut le laisser s’assagir quelques années de plus car le fond est superbe — 7 years ago

I'm fairly new to Girard wines, but really quite fond of this cab blend. I've tasted the '11 as well and this seems to be a step above. Really opens nicely after a bit of a decant...medium bodied but full of great flavor. — 10 years ago

A good Saint Emillion is something that reminds me of trips to France many years ago and recently. Enjoyment of wine, I think is partly a function of the fond memories that go with it. I cannot honestly say that this wine is three times better than the Costco Cotes du Rhone but it costs three times more. By the way I have no vested interest in Costco or any other wine supplier. — 11 years ago

House gift from Argentina part 2: a gran reserva Trapiche, quite elegant & nimble despite the 14.5%. Oak monster integrated but is in the foreground- gets better w air. Crushed red fruits, cassis edges. All in all a very smooth drinking & balanced affair. — 6 years ago
