Joseph Faiveley Meursault Chardonnay

Ik denk m’n eerste Meursault….

Bevalt goed! Hier kan ik wel aan wennen 😂.

Zachte zuren, ziltig en zalvend. Bitters komen in de finale. Lichte boterzuren, granny smith, iets toast, fijne mineralen/grassig. Abrikoos, sterfruit. Prima, lekker, maar geen wauw.
Bij deze ene gaat het desondanks niet blijven.

Light, bright, tart cherry, nice finish. So balanced and well done. Can’t wait to see what this family does with Williams Selyem and CA grapes in the years ahead — 4 years ago

Grand cru quality. Way too young. I will love to see this in 15 years. Right now it’s really good Pinot but in a decade or two I bet it will be singing with complexity — 6 years ago

A lovely floral nose. Dried strawberries, Asian spice, cranberry dark gnarly blue fruit. Very vivid still. A proud, deep palate with sour cherry and a rich long finish. This is in great shape — 7 years ago

Clos Rond Mercurey Pinot Noir 2010

A touch of barnyard on the nose, lighter and less fruit-forward than other Faiveley Mercureys I've had, but with a stronger mineral structure. — 8 years ago

Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1993

@Ted Mandes @Steve Colanero @Christine Christine's WOTN. Such an elegant example of a superb old world wine. This was next to an Aubert PInot and the differences were amazing! Balance, harmony, integration, beautiful subtle notes vs. the Aubert Pinot. Christine stated that she preferred this to Aubert! Amazing bottle. I'm not sure how much evolution can be gained from further aging. I think it reached its max. Stunning! — 8 years ago

Well structured...orchard fruit and nutty weight carry through. Emma described it as 'ham-like, which I think is perfect. Roast peanut shells. A well-made balanced expression. I'll take a case. — 10 years ago

Aux Chaignots Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Disappointing. Very concentrated and precise in the mouth. Excellent structure and minerality. But a muted aroma and inflection of flavor, which I assume is brett. — 4 years ago
