Prototypical 06 burgundy. Good stuff. — 9 years ago
I suspect this didn't get quite enough air. Not quite pop and pour but it was only open for 45 mins before we drank it (we were perhaps over-concerned about the mid shoulder level). Lovely (and lively) russet core with long legs as a ruby rim; nose of pencil shavings, cigar tubes (hint of metal with lots of tobacco), blackberry stalks, and lingering aromas of compté cheese rind and venerable (on-the-edge) rose petals; long and satisfying - persistent tannins and well integrated but still present acidity. From half bottle - need to give the next one more time!!! — 9 years ago
After a solid hour of air a majestic and sophisticated wine began to bloom. It's absolutely lovely, rich berries, glycerin, minerals and dark chocolate. Merci! — 10 years ago
3.5 hours of air seems just right — 11 years ago
If a wine can be honest (& a farmers wine to boot), this is it. Even threw off a bit of sediment for such a youngin'. Much much better the 2nd day. Doesnt have the acidic snap that some of my fave Bourgueils do, but Im rootin for it — 8 years ago
When in Rome (as they say) 75% Cab Franc, 25% Merlot. This needs air or you'll think it uninspiring (was best the next day). Violets and slight French oak nose. Smooth, clean blue fruits with tannins up front fading at mid palate. Med/short finish. Solid wine. — 8 years ago
Prefer it freshly opened with limited air while it's still tight. Really good. — 9 years ago
Earth tones are prevalent — 9 years ago

Drinkable AF. — 8 years ago
This started out nothing but acid and oak, but it filled out so beautifully with air. The fruit came out, the acid backed off, and the oak integrated and became pine forest. What balance! — 9 years ago
How have I not had this wine in my life before? Leafy green tones, dizzying array of orchard and citrus fruits, all super bright and ripe, fresh mushrooms, ginger candy, fresh soil, wax, and stones. Mouth coating and dense. Acidity is persistent but not searing. Balanced from start to finish. — 9 years ago
A little less exciting than I expected. Definitely opens with with air, but I did not experience the dense tastes some have described. Well balanced with soft tannins, but not much nose or finish. Maybe the 2001 is past its prime. — 10 years ago
APPEARANCE Clear Medium Ruby color. NOSE Clean Light aromas of Red berry fruit mélange, tea leaf, with air more notes of earth and spice.. PALATE Dry sweetness, Medium acid and Low tannin with Light body and flavours of spice that lessen on the palate while the tea flavors are more pronounced, however the red berry fruits are the most present of the flavors with a streak of minerality. which last for Medium length on the finish. Very Good quality. #beaujolais #morgon #lapierre — 11 years ago

Our monthly 4th Friday event at the storage facility. No requirements, just wine you want to share with others! Always an enjoyable time.
Special place in my heart for this winery. A few months ago, I had an '88 go celebrate my birth year. It was STELLAR. This is pushing forward easily...after an hour of air, the fruit and secondary earth and funk notes came out. So good! Thanks Walter! — 8 years ago
