No. 5 in the Vosne Romanee bracket. My notes said “This is La Tache “ which proved to be wrong. All tasted blind to reiterate. Intoxicating aromas of florals red fruit and a hint of sandalwood. Similar energy on the palate but medium weight with some austerity at the finish. Not as full bodied as some DRC Richebourgs I have had. JH said “effortless complexity “. — 6 years ago

High toned red fruit, some VA and lots of acidity. We decanted it to let it soften up a bit. Second time to drink Thévenet this month. Maximum drinking pleasure! His VV cuvée comes from a parcel with 70+ year old vynes and is aged in old oak barrels (that first belonged to Domaine Romanée-Conti), after a 'cool' (not cold) macération carbonique. — 9 years ago

Off the charts an amazing tasting experience for me. Check out the shipper stamp in the bottom left. This producer no longer exists, DRC bought them out in the 60s.
As for the wine, a beauty she was with haunting and funky notes of dried red fruits, forest floor, savory and mushroom. The palate was plenty live, the mid palate and finish gained weight and depth with an hour of air and the neck cracked. No. 3 in the Vosne Romanee Grand Cru lineup. My blind tasting notes - “Concentrated Latent and Long. A huge future - amazing potential. I think DRC - La Tache?” The latter assumption proving to be wrong as that was Wine No. 1. Nevertheless the quality of the 2015 Grand Crus from Vosne Romanee are beyond question. 2008 Vosne-Romanee. This wine was pretty but not gorgeous. First sip was still all primary fruit but the mid palate lacked depth and the acidity was out of balance. The wine comes from Vosne not 200 yards from DRC, but as we know, in Burgundy terroir is everything. I'd have this again but I wouldn't search for it. — 7 years ago

this 0.84ha slice is the immediate uphill neighbour of romanée conti.
medium intense nose of cherry, raspberry, chocolate, cherry liqueur, wood, traces of tea.
drinking it even makes more sense - high end tannins, minerality, ever long finish...
besides that firm and still youthful structure i'm missing some tension and playful charme...

"Full deep red. Subtle, aromatically compelling nose of bitter cherry, raspberry, minerals and licorice, along with a distinct aspect of menthol austerity. Tightly wound, cool and backward, with the wine powerful minerality and structure currently dominating.
