Zingy lemon dry sweetness at the front, buttered roll at the end. This is a stellar wine. Iconic bottling from an iconic producer. — 8 years ago
2008, Domaine Pepiere, Cuvee Eden Les Gras Moutons, Muscadet Sevre et Maine. Marc Ollivier is my favorite Muscadet producer. His wines age so well and always deliver. One of the first muscadets that I bought and still a favorite. I don't understand why Muscadet is so hard to sell. Tons of minerality, good acidity and always relatively inexpensive. One of the best values in French wines. — 9 years ago
The age really mellows out the acid. Fat bald guys rule. — 11 years ago

To standard-issue txakoli as something like Pépière Clos des Briords is to standard Muscadet: deeper, richer clay soils, more concentration, a creamy, waxy intensity bound by acid that guides it like rails. — 8 years ago
