Fruity but dry. Happy wine. — 9 years ago
How have I not had this wine in my life before? Leafy green tones, dizzying array of orchard and citrus fruits, all super bright and ripe, fresh mushrooms, ginger candy, fresh soil, wax, and stones. Mouth coating and dense. Acidity is persistent but not searing. Balanced from start to finish. — 10 years ago

Decanted and aerated. Not much bouquet but some spicy berries. Delicate mild dark berry middle and then finishes with that long old world earthiness. Dry dry finish. Perfect with apple topped pork. — 9 months ago
complex, spicy fruit, white pepper and a hint of black olive tapenade — 7 years ago
Deep and rich Gruner with a savory mix of mineral, phenolic spicy flavors. Dry and precise for a fuller bodied style. — 9 years ago

One encounter with an ex-château bottle suggested that the 1966 Lynch-Bages is not to be overlooked. Deep in color, it has a tempting nose that unfolds gradually in the glass, graphite and cedar commingling with crushed stone and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm entry, very cedary with touches of desiccated orange peel. It's a bit conservative on the finish, though that is a leitmotif of the 1966 vintage. Well-preserved bottles should still be giving pleasure. Tasted at the Lynch Bages vertical. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2023) — 2 years ago

A delicious Cru Beaujolais! I've been drinking this for about six years and always like it. Light and with a little funk, but not too much. A winner in the Louis/Dressner stable. — 10 years ago
You can't sneak a Syrah dominated CDR by me at prices this good. Fresh as hell, fat and sassy. 2013 La Boveau. — 10 years ago

Pretty volatile soon after pouring. Calmed down with some time in the glass. But still unlikely to please everyone. The carbonic maceration is evident. With all of this, I ended up finding it to be an interedting and enjoyable expression of terroir. — 9 months ago
