Quite reticent and backward .. needed some time to open up. Dark bramble fruits, earthy , mineral. Complex and kept changing in the glass. Lovely sweet black fruits and suave but noticeable tannins, good acidity . Very long in the mouth, very complete. It probably requires a touch longer in the cellar to open out a bit more but was very enjoyable. An excellent wine with a great future . — 7 years ago

@Shay A Heck yes, bad ass bottle. I bought 2, drank 1 and hid the other away in off site storage so that it was safely out of my hands for a few more years. One of the more expensive rose (or not rose, you decide) wines we've bought, got for $80/bottle... How did you fare?

@Severn Goodwin : Definitely pricey for a “rosé” but everything I read tells me to not consider if that...but also not consider it a red. I was able to get them for $65/bottle as my local storage facility has had just a few for a while and hasn’t been able to move them. I may raid the rest of the lot!

@Shay A Good price, that's about the wholesale cost in MA. You scored well, likely no one else was willing to pay up, and they didn't know what it was. Buy more if you like it, it took a while to really get going and I decanted it. It's a rarity IMO, should easily hold for 3-4 years or more. I would have loved to have tasted the '12 that @Roman Sukley posted, might have been close to the first release on that experiment.

Darker, more structured. White pepper early on, later more capsicum, cool and silky, higher toned. Would have liked it more if it wasn't for the peppers — 10 years ago

Liger Belair Dinner 2nd flight in Mag. This is a wine that is not imported to the US as the quantity is so minuscule. Lots of black cherry, raspberry with good structure & purity of fruit. My favorite of the group. — 7 years ago

Remarkable wine. So much potential. I feel kinda sad drinking it this young. The nose was so seductive. Perfumed fruits and flowers. The palate still very fruit forward. The texture ethereal. The finish lengthy. NZ ftw! — 9 years ago
