Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

An excellent medium bodied Cabernet, this wine is rich in creamy tannins but not so much as to be “liquid bread “. It has very pleasant, yet restrained, Bing cherry and red currant flavors. The oak is also applied with a subtle hand. Overall, this is an impressive offering, which should evolve nicely over a couple of years’ lying down. — 6 years ago

Santo Stefano di Neive Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1990

Wow. A really seductive nose with wild strawberry, dark tobacco and dense plummy fruit. Sweet and soulful but with a gloriously expansive middle. Really lovely stuff. — 5 years ago

Les Champs Perdrix Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

A solid proof why you should age your Bourgogne wines. A “simple” Village Lieu-dit (above La Tâch) is finding itself in a wonderful stage in life near 10 years past harvest. Just let it dust off its shoulder and catch your attention as it opens up with a toffee like red fruit character, dried roses, sous bois, truffle, spice and rocks before slowly walking out with a graceful posture. — 4 years ago
