For many California wine afficionados, Hundred Acre represents the top tier of Napa Valley Cabernets. Kayli Morgan Vineyard is very close to winemaker Jayson Woodbridge's heart...and his actual home. The harmonious terroir of St Helena was tailor made for Cabernet Sauvignon. Add in the fact that this is a very quality-oriented, hand-made endeavor and you've got yourself a sure-fire 95+ point wine. The hand selecting of not only the wood for the barrels but the individual grapes is not lost on the drinker. On the nose you get ripe, over-sweet raspberry, vanilla and cassis. On the palate it leans more towards blackberry, currant, cooked plums paired with solid salinity. Perfectly structured, Kayli Morgan ends with incredibly smooth, supple tannins from both the grape skin and the barrel. This '04 is ready to go but based on the precise vinification techniques it will likely keep for 15+ years. — 10 years ago
Lovely. Cherry and brambles. Perfectly disheveled. I love this one. Got it at Wine Sense. — 9 years ago
Black and red currants on the nose along with pine cones and autumn leaves. The black and red berries continue on the palate along with eucalyptus, bay leaf, capsicum, ceylon, and a faint note of white pepper. Popped and drank. Should have decanted for a few hours, as this is very nuanced, revealing new flavors with each return to the glass. The finish is clean and balanced, lingering and evolving over a few minutes. Tannins are almost fully integrated; yet the structure remains firm. For me, this seems to be the peak drinking window. Only two of these remain in the cellar! Will definitely try another bottle with a few hours of decanting soon. A very cerebral, thought provoking wine. Pair with John Coltrane, Miles Davis, perhaps even better with Wax Tailor. — 9 years ago

Full, lush, lovely. Tailor made for steak. Not quite as long as I'd expected, but a sharp, fulfilling wine. — 9 years ago
