Absolutely Devine Chardonnay. Velvety butter and great acidity balance. Incredible legs. The smell is really hard for@me@to pin down - new spring maple leaf and summer ocean air randomly come to mind - don't even ask. I don't know why. 1985: Great bottle. First tasted this vintage in 1995, and have enjoyed twice since. This bottle showed the best among other devine experiences. I tried to maintain a cool reserve while anticipating tasting the wine, since Barolo, particularly this philosophical branch, can sometimes lead to "anticipointment". Not this time. Fresh and youthful, full of depth and supple charm. Pure harmony, with a broad core of intense cherry fruit. A tremendous wine, where the four of us were all delighted. Transcendent. — 10 years ago
