Smooth, tangy, with a fruity and a very slightly spicy finish. Definitely can taste the grapes in the right way — 5 years ago

Better than my first bottle last June.
Parker 95 Wine Maker notes,
Derek Mossman began Garage Wine Company at a time when there were relatively few smaller, family owned wineries in Chile. He not only started his venture to produce hand made wines on a human scale, but also to buy fruit from and support farmers with great quality fruit throughout the country. Along the way, he also banded together a group of like minded wineries to create MOVI, a platform to promote smaller production wineries in Chile.
Tantalizing aromas of blueberries, violets, orange peel, raspberry leaf and aniseed with a touch of aromatic herbs that provide freshness. The palate is electric, with pulsing acidity, ultra-fine tannins and very good length. Both rustic and elegant, wild and subtle, it has precision, elegance, balance and life. Shows no alcohol nor wood. A fresh, Mediterranean blend from a vineyard that was forgotten, revived, regenerated and today shows what the Maule is capable of. — 4 years ago
The 1970 Trotanoy is a wine that I have encountered several times and – caveat emptor – it is variable and prone to TCA issues. This bottle initially sports a metallic note on the nose, although it dissipates to reveal engaging scents of dark berry fruit, undergrowth and the hint of traditional Japanese green tea that I have noted before. Perhaps it does not quite deliver the precision of the best bottles I have come across. The palate is structured and tannic – a “serious” Trotanoy that is determined to impress despite a touch of rusticity. This is a broad-shouldered, rather stocky Trotanoy with impressive depth and just a hint of black olive on the long finish. It will not improve with cellaring but it remains a great Pomerol that has tasted so well for almost half a century. Tasted at Fook Lam Moon in Hong Kong. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2019)

My overall favorite of the night. Amazing nose of wildflowers, perfume, and baking spices. Bold but balanced palate with dark blue fruits and a finish that just approached sweet. The Derek Jeter of wine. Incredible! — 8 years ago

The 2nd WNH Zoom tasting on 3/29 with a “open any white” theme. The On The Lam is eleven years old and is reminiscent of the Backwards and Forwards at this point in its development. I had a Backwards & Forwards in 2017 that had a ridiculously delicious array of secondary characteristics that were just outstanding in their funky goodness. This bottle reminds me more of that wine at age 10. It has transformed from youthful to mature but displays no adolescent awkwardness. Honeyed melon, marzipan, candied pear and burnt marshmallow envelop a firm backbone of acidity. It’s adding weight but ever so slowly. Right now it’s still lithe and pushy and a changeling in the glass that warrants frequent check ins because a night of drinking will deliver 4 or 5 different wines for your drinking pleasure. — 5 years ago
Nydelig! Drakk uten mat, men denne passer nok godt til grillet lam eller lignende! — 6 years ago

Delectable can't even locate this wine. Only 47 cases made. So smooth with a perfect nose and finish. Great wine for our anniversary. — 10 years ago
Domaine Henri Jayer Echézeaux 1988: Lush and silky, bursting with sweet black fruit and a commanding, complex perfume of Asian spice, musk, and minerals. Wines from the late, legendary Henri Jayer represent a singularly heightened benchmark for Burgundy and Pinot Noir. They are Led Zeppelin conquering the Garden in 1973 or Kurt Cobain rasping behind the stargazer lilies: pure glory, glorious purity. beetroot and menthol on the nose, velvet on the tongue, and exhilaration in the heart. Wines like these make even the most law-abiding drinker contemplate a life on the lam. — 10 years ago
