Unusual for Abe not to have notes for a wine on his site, but this one has always been blank. I assumed from the name that it was a potpourri of Sacramento River Delta wines and that proved to be correct. A retail site notes that this is a cofermentation of Albariño, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Grigio and Verdelho from the Lost Slough Vineyard, then blended with 14% Whole cluster Riesling. Complex nose with a little funk, and acid for days. Interesting wine. — 7 years ago

Very old vine zin - planted on its own roots in 1890, dry-farmed off the Delta in alluvial soil, and (I'm guessing) probably pretty crazy looking. The wine is really good. Smells like blue fruit and baking spices. Tastes unexpectedly springy and bright, like rhubarb jam, with a balanced flinty finish. Great story and a fun wine. — 9 years ago

The fruit for this Pinot Noir is primarily from the Delta region of California and is fermented in closed-top fermenters. A small portion is aged in seasoned barrels to impart slight oak characteristics to the wine, but most is kept in stainless steel in order to stay true to the wine's lighter, food-friendly style.
