The 2018 DeLille Cellars Rose follows up the hugely impressive 2017 release. A blend of Grenache (52%) with Mourvedre (39%) and a touch of Cinsault (9%), the 2018 DeLille Rose opens with a wonderful aromatic range from red currant to red cherry candy to shades of teaberry and wild mushroom with lighter smoky undertones that all build in the glass. The palate reveals a silky mouthfeel and wonderful texture and mouth-watering acidity. Could age more, but drinkable now. Debated over Thanksgiving dinner what to expect from this wine on future tastings. 2013. Bordeaux replacement of Chard. 65% sauv blanc + 35% semillon. Sauv provides the grassy floral and pineapple notes while the semillon brings forward more body and character. Really cool stuff and I like the direction they took. Not overly Oakes at this stage. I want to see how this changes with age. — 7 years ago
