Schramsberg Vineyards

J. Davies Jamie's Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Calistoga day and we visited Schramsberg. We went there for the bubbles so this extra tasting was a real treat. Schramsberg was my second favorite tasting experience of the trip. This wine was huge, powerful, elegant, and needs about 10 to 15 years to truly evolve. Definitely was a wow wine, but not sure the value is there for the price. — 9 months ago

Osoyoos Larose

Le Grand Vin Okanagan Valley Merlot Blend 2016

The Killers release a new album a couple weeks ago, and named one of the tracks after this wine: My God.

Blueberries. Cherry. Cigars... and not the cheap ones: Cubans.

Every sip lingers nearly 10 minutes... it’s huge. I can only imagine what this will taste like in another 10 years.

Gangster in their day. They look sassy. Great visual.

Nobles Vineyards Pinot Noir 2018

Medium Ruby color; lovely aromas of violet, dried rose petal, dried orange peel, cranberry, raspberry, wild strawberry, forest floor, sour cherry, black cherry and a hint of espresso. There is a lot going on in this wine and while it is beguiling now it will be even better in a year or two. A terrific effort. — 9 months ago

Domaine Clavel

Copa Santa Coteaux du Languedoc Syrah Blend 1993

Fascinating old Syrah from the Languedoc (label says 100% Syrah, 13.0 ABV), purchased on release, meaty, smoky, clean, balanced, this has held up amazingly well, medium-long finish, a Jeffrey Davies import from his early days of bringing in Languedoc wines (a most excellent portfolio back in the 1990s)!! — a year ago
