Succulent dar fruits along with herbal and peppery notes. Compared to 2013 that I can remember, this 2014 seems to be more fleshy and a bit more jammy. Higher acidity as well. But the sense of balance was still there. Can’t go wrong with John Duvall wine. — 7 years ago

Absolutely stunning nose of barbecued meat, dar sour fruits, kirsch, violets, and pencil lead. Initially very focused on the palate, but then expanded to reveal additional layers of flavored that echoed (in a subdued way) the nose. Graceful finish goes on forever. Powerful elegance, Manfred’s signature call. This one is probably still too young...but it’s awesome nonetheless. — 8 years ago

Sfida altamente affascinante per un degustatore che si trova al cospetto di un'interpretazione che non teme note ossidative, carbonica e astringenza (in un bianco). Componenti naso/bocca - il vino vede unicamente cemento e vetro - che si integrano in armonia con tutta una serie di elementi per dar vita a una complessità straordinaria. Melone giallo, pompelmo, biscotto con impasto di mandorle, fichi secchi, note salmastre, coriandolo e un mare di erbe aromatiche, per un sorso intenso, altamente trascinante, di coinvolgente energia acido/sapida e che termina in un lungo finale dal sapore amarognolo, fresco di mentuccia e di stimolante salivazione.

A bit of rain in September gave us a little bit of mold they triple sorted the fruit with cassis and currant berry fruit cigar box spice fresh earth and a nice freshness to the finish some fresh black earth with dar bitter coco notes through the finish 800 foot elevation in their estate vineyard they had a bad set giving them one ton per acre. The 2010 has more richness and 3000 cases is the normal production the 2011 is only 900 cases. They make 15,000 cases total under the Merryvale moniker. The 2010 has more richness more tannins and a long finish. Most excellent. — 11 years ago
