Had another bottle, Wow! Laura Catena, 4th gen winemaker, grew up in Argentine-Italian winemaking family in Mendoza. Wines, named after her children - Luca, Dante & Nicola - background of the label is the McDermott coat of arms of her American husband, Daniel McDermott. Single-vineyard wine from land belonging to the Laborde family. Deep red with big ripe fruits & smoky oak. Palate plum & jammy blackberry, spice with nice earthy character. Tannins are a bit rustic, lingering ending with toasty oak & spice. — 6 years ago
Cherry and Cake aromas, chocolate cherry, very fruity. Nice tart acidity... balanced and dry. Oak on it as well. Standard every day wine. — 7 years ago

First document to mention Terrabianca dated 1085: two centuries before Dante. Located 35 miles from Florence, in the heart of Chianti. A blend of 70% Sangiovese & 30% Cab Sauv, aged for 12 months in French & American oak. Dark Ruby with aromas of berry fruit and light toasty oak. On the palate cherry and ripe plum, a bit of spice and oak with a savory edge. Well balanced soft tannins, complex yet elegant. Lingering ending with fresh fruit and a little earthy mineral. A Fav! — 7 years ago
It's from a tiny sub-region high up in the Valle d'Aoste where it can get hot during the day. As hot as hell... or in this case, as hot as enfer. A classic Alpine wine - all brambly, wild berries, with a rough and tumble rustic richness, balanced by classic Alpine freshness. And as with past vintges, it's one of those wines that may even be better the second day...even the third day. Maybe for an eternity, which would be handy if you actually find yourself in the Dante-esque scene depicted on the label. So grab a bottle, pop it open, and try really, really hard to make it last past day one. (We can't promise you'll make it to heaven, but you can at least have a taste!) — 9 years ago
