Waited 2 hours and tasted.tight. 2 more hours opened up but still quite tannic but delicious cherry tobacco. Some tar. Nice. Somewhat complex but felt needed more time but delicious as is. — 4 years ago
Decanted for 1.5 hours first - a little rough at first but opened up - tart cherries, ripe fruit, very round and smooth but tannins have a strong grip. Great with steak! — 5 years ago
Lemon meringue and chalk. Complete and satisfying, balancing freshness and savor. Riesling-like energy. Always one of the most sophisticated Chardonnays from anywhere in Italy. #grasso #piemonte #chardonnay #langhe — 6 years ago
Gran grechetto. Naso di frutta gialla matura e tropicale, note burrose, croissant, pasticceria qualche lieve sentore erbaceo, di macchia mediterranea. Bocca sountuosz, grasso e con una bella acidità, lunga persistenza e note tostate — 6 years ago
Luxurious, decadent, full of youthful fruit but ready to drink now. Those 2009 Barolos are very underrated — 8 years ago
Very tannic. Cherry, licorice, medium body, very good with a skirt steak. Not amazing but also def well made. Not certain if I would buy again but above average. — 8 years ago
A wonderful "starting to get" mature Barolo, decanted for almost one hour, tannins are rounder than few years back and well integrated, a pleasure to drink, a full and deep Barolo with character, an expressive wine made of Nebbiolo - Honest expressions of the terroir of Monforte d'Alba, which generally produces a bigger, more tannic style of Barolo than those from La Morra or Barolo itself. — 9 years ago
Great wine $35 at Fredies. — 11 years ago
Absolutely spectacular. Essence of Barolo. Cherry and then more cherry. Can’t get enough! — 3 years ago
Pineapple and mango. Very pleasant and easy drinking — 6 years ago

Earthy. Ripe. Beautiful. — 10 years ago
Still youthfully dark in color with a very slight browning on rim. Upon opening still very tight and shy on nose. Decided to decant this for 3.5h prior our Christmas dinner and it started to open around 3h mark. Then it was a great Barbaresco from Treiso offering slightly darker side of Nebbiolo expression with ripe cherry, some leather and smoke, fine pepper notes. Healthy acidity and fine tannins offers solid back bone for further aging and development. I take this is 2-3 years from peak and should continue to drink several years after that. Glad I have 2 more bottles. This was a fabulous qpr back then at 23€/bottle — 3 years ago

Drank a bottle 1 week ago. Big difference. Not intense but smooth with pleasant fruit flavors. — 8 years ago
Unbelievably classic. The mushroom, truffle, and red fruit just dances and the acid and tannin structure is so interesting. Reminds me why I fell in love with Barolo! — 8 years ago
Really beautiful. Lots of tannins with an intense finish! I'm having the 2011 — 10 years ago
Could not stop drinking this. — 11 years ago

Fresh and dried cherries, roses, dry leaves, cinnamon, and blood oranges. HIGH acid and tannins—this needed salty and savory food to feel complete. (Still many years ahead of it!!) — 3 years ago
