VeryNice blend Full of flavor — 8 years ago
I am rarely into the funk. But this has just the right level of soil to get me jumping. For joy. — 8 years ago
What a beautiful blend. Never had the Mourvèdre grape before. So nice. Fruit forward with a hint of dark chocolate. So love this wine. — 9 years ago
This was served at the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens wine and cheese lecture series today. Wonderful! — 9 years ago
So incredibly happy to have opened a bottle of 2000 from the first winery I ever worked at - and it's drinking so well!! — 9 years ago
Cinnamon is making lamb shanks and I just started reading Mr. Curtis' new book, so it had to be Burgundy tonight. The quote from Claude Arnoux, from 1728, "all the lords who prefer healthful drinks to dainty ones order wines from the Cote de Nuits for their table" made me reach for this Gouges. Report to follow. — 10 years ago
Nice rose. Not sweet but dry enough to make you want more and more. — 11 years ago
Superb Syrah! — 12 years ago
Blueberry, raspberry, tar, oak, brick. Smooth finish with oily, smoky notes like olives, sea salt, Gruyere. Have another bottle of this vintage we will open in 3-4 years to see differences. Sarah had a more fruit forward, tart experience with black cherry coming forward. — 8 years ago
A wine that always reminds me of suckling pig with @Amanda Crawford and @Charles Curtis many years ago. — 8 years ago
Balanced if I can say that for a late harvest dessert wine... (It was). The acid supported it's dance between alcohol and sugar. Beautiful nose. Sweet citrus and floral. What I call a 'honeymoon' wine. Perfect, goes quick. — 9 years ago
2013. Love this wine — 9 years ago
Thanks for the great dinner dad! This Burgundy had the catnip blend of sweet Pinot fruit, expensive cooperage and deep, cool earthiness that you can't get from anything else. Thanks @Charles Curtis for inspiring me to drink more of the "Original Grand Cru's of Burgundy" and thanks Silicon Babylon for letting me see both Tignanello and Insignia being drunk through straws at two different tables! — 9 years ago
Out for dinner with Curtis, Julie, Dan, and Erik. Yum! — 10 years ago

Aged just a hair too long but really smooth Syrah. Stewed plums, licorice, and brick. — 8 years ago
Citrus, stone, melon, tart ripe, Curtis blossom, white peach — 9 years ago
Very refreshing for a red wine. Maybe I should chill it and drink it like a rose. — 9 years ago
Beautiful salmon color, light and delicate strawberry nose, very nice acidity and cherry-strawberry fruit flavors. It's a great dry rosé. — 9 years ago
Sneaking a peek at the Montre-Cul with the some Dijon chicken. Charles Curtis has really got me fired up on these historic sites of Burgundy... This wine comes from north of Marsannay and the tight, dark, reticent character of the wine matches it's borderline location. For a wine this tight and brooding, it sure did go down fast with the chicken. The mystery of Burgundy! — 9 years ago

An OMG Santa Barbara Syrah with some great wine making history. — 11 years ago
Wonderful and bright with lingering mineral notes. Very nice. — 11 years ago

Mourvèdre where have you been all my life? Tasted this with Andrew on a recent visit and my first bottle did not disappoint. Nice black fruits and smooth tannins--delicious. Only issue is the burgundy bottle which is a tight fit in my fridge. — 8 years ago
