Wonderful and bright with lingering mineral notes. Very nice. — 13 years ago
Cinnamon is making lamb shanks and I just started reading Mr. Curtis' new book, so it had to be Burgundy tonight. The quote from Claude Arnoux, from 1728, "all the lords who prefer healthful drinks to dainty ones order wines from the Cote de Nuits for their table" made me reach for this Gouges. Sneaking a peek at the Montre-Cul with the some Dijon chicken. Charles Curtis has really got me fired up on these historic sites of Burgundy... This wine comes from north of Marsannay and the tight, dark, reticent character of the wine matches it's borderline location. For a wine this tight and brooding, it sure did go down fast with the chicken. The mystery of Burgundy! — 11 years ago
