Skirting the line between classical & modern. Smells very rich with powerful dark fruit & sweet oaky aromatics. The palate shows power, but still brings freshness and finesse. Structure is definitely behind the fruit here, but this is a lovely GR for Saturday night. — 5 years ago

Like Vino Verde without bubbles. Crisp, refreshing, light, citrus, grapefruit, peaches, lemon. Opens well with a dry finish. Wonderful perfume. Great easy drinker. — 7 years ago
Only half american oak and it shows. Less vanilla than el coto but still there. More complexity. I like it. (Goes well with sweet potatoes. — 7 years ago

A blend of Treixadura, Giselle & Loureiro. Expressive on the nose with yellow stone fruit, moist rocks & moss and a saline whiff. Surprisingly rich on the palate yet beautifully balanced by the juicy acidity and asking, mineral bite.
This has surprising depth & precision. An absolutely beautiful match with fish (pot roasted red gurnard)!! — 3 years ago
Vanilla, cinnamon, violet, canned cranberries, dried strawberries, blackberries, red licorice, touch of delicious animal funk
1973... Amazingly fresh. Great acid. Pretty. Floral. Orange-brick red. Cork came out beautifully with ah-so. So much more fruit and freshness than the 75 El Coto. No overwhelming oxidatio. What a treat. — 5 years ago

Outstanding Albariño by Xosé Luis Sebio (winemaker at Coto de Gomariz). From old vines in Aios (Sanxenxo) in the Salnes subzone of Rías Baixas. Clean, precise nose with aromas of citrus, minerals, sea breeze. Very refreshing, elegant on the palate. Citrus, zesty acidity. Long, saline finish. Very very good — 2 years ago

A dark brooding wine with tar and spices. Blueberries and black olives. — 6 years ago
A few years ago Spanish wine was a total bargain. Then they figured out they could send us junk. I stopped buying. But in desperation recently I got this and was surprised. Really pretty good and both varietals are very present. Even better after a day, showing some interesting depth. Maybe cheapie Spanish wines are back to being bargains. — 6 years ago
