Fantastic, delicious, slight raisin/fig in the finish (beautiful & delicious), tannin needs 3 years; sprite woody, will mellow nicely. — 4 years ago
Very good. Smooth and full taste.
Good for spicy or meaty food

The Valdiguie was kind of meh, got better with air but the Carignan... this is a wild f’in wine. I honestly don’t know what’s happening in my mouth but it’s some combination of red fruit and salted meat. Kind of stopped me in my tracks as I said “wtf is this” — 5 years ago

2012 drinking very well. Blackberry chocolate, a little stone fruit around the edges; satisfying. Fine tannins at the right level of grip. — 8 years ago
Impressive. Enjoyed with a homemade tomato basil prosciutto pizza. — 8 years ago
Fresh and well balanced. The best of the lineup IMHO. — 9 years ago
Smooth yumminess in a glass. — 10 years ago
Funky Cab Franc different compared to the traditional Loire Valley. Funky and different in all the best ways though. Refreshing and takes a slight chill well. — 3 years ago
Natural Zinfandel recommended when I asked for something not as tart. Slightly mushroomy / peppery finish, very enjoyable. Purchased from Gemini Bottle Co — 4 years ago
128-yr. old vines. Super-rich, but I wish they had picked a bit earlier. This winery sources great Zin fruit from unique historical sources but they’re always over 15%. I cant help but think the wines would be more interesting and flexible if they picked earlier. In any event, this is quite good and shows very ripe Zin character, but the acids are low and the effect of some bottle age is a flatter mouthfeel. Still very good. — 5 years ago
Another last of its kind wine as the San Mateo moved to Alesia label after this vintage. This young blend is really singing right now with bright red fruit and cedar spice and well balanced acidity. A candidate for short term aging, but the freshness of the fruit really shines now. — 5 years ago
The nose on this is scrumptious, and it tastes as good as it smells. It was our favorite tasting at the Cline family cellars. — 6 years ago
What a find! — 7 years ago
Nice full body, dry but not overly so. One of the best cabernet sauvignon wines I've had. Paired excellent with gourmet burgers. — 8 years ago
This 1997 Cline ZIN was unbelievable!! The age has perfected it! — 9 years ago
2013 Vintage. Smooth and drinkable, fruity. — 9 years ago
Really pleasant. Dry. Beautiful nose. 11.9%. Lemon peel and pears. I'm impressed. — 11 years ago
Prob didn’t need to have this btl at the end of the night, but it had a great, sweet richness. Lots of vanilla bean, soft chocolate finesse. What a treat - especially after having a 2017 Imposter early in the nite! Thx Jeff Cohn. — 3 years ago

Clear deep red-violet Boysenberry on sight
Clean sandy berry aroma
Dry, med+ acidity, fine tannin, lighter side of medium body, red fruit and dark berry in the finish. Delicious now, could age. Needs a nice decant, great to watch evolve in glass too (air wakes up the tannins and elevates the red fruit notes)
Hooray and Keep up the good work 140+ yr old vines!
