Killer aroma, acidity and minerality. Very slight hint of natural funk. — 4 years ago
Vintage 2016 — 4 years ago
Drank it after about five other bottles on Fri before Secret Cinema. Remember thinking it is good, need to revisit. Heavy, grown up but still elegant. — 5 years ago
All native Portuguese grapes made a very good wine. Rich, floral, and tart. I’d almost call it savory. — 6 years ago

The 2011 is ok. This is a light wine with a little bite. A wine that would go fine with fried chicken. — 8 years ago
Pretty smooth, oaky, blackberry juice and a vanilla finish. Love it — 3 years ago
An ongoing story. Delicious .

Color is a mix of purple and burgundy, a bit cloudy. Nose of dried strawberry, spicy note, currants, and carbonates grape juice. Taste is smooth and follows the nose with addition of zest, decent acidity, and tiny hint of mineral. Some more blackberry. And some more black pepper. Aftertaste of some more warmth from black peppers. Clean and warm, and above average. — 4 years ago

Celery seed. Super interesting. Not in a bad way! I would do it again. — 6 years ago
Phenomenal wine for the price. Earthy at first then flowery. The perfect wine for a special occasion. 1989 — 7 years ago
Fresh and bright with all the power of Portugal supporting it — 8 years ago

Can I just say that people who post Matt had the 2017 vintage or Sally had the 2015 are complete assholes. No one has the slightest interest in which vintage you tried if you were too preoccupied or whatever to make interesting or intelligent critique of the wine.
Liked this wine and would buy it again. Tinto. Label doesn't provide the grapes.
From the internet; Made from the traditional grape varieties of the region, Tinta Roriz, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Touriga Nacional, this is a simple and fruity wine that maintains the freshness and elegance typical of Dão wines. — 4 years ago
The oak is quite prominent though not overbearing initially, and subsides gradually to commingle with ripe black fruits, clove, anise, dark chocolate, dried herbs, and slight hint of barnyard. Full body. Savory and lush palate but the fruits feels youthful than the nose suggested. Vivid acidity and still solid tannins. Will continue to get better in the next 5 years also.
This bottle serves a reminder that I need to drink more wines from Portugal, one of my favorite countries to visit. — 4 years ago
This is my kind of wine! The end taste is woody and it’s perfect with meat (specially a bbq made in the wood fire). Personal note: both, I and my fiancé loved this one, what is a rare find!! — 6 years ago
Танинное. Тонкое карамельное послевкусие. Очень понравилось! — 6 years ago
Pretty full-bodied, fruity notes at the beginning but nice oak finish — 8 years ago

Had this at chef Avillez’s Bairro in Lisbon’s Chiado neighborhood. First time trying a Dao DOC wine, and it was splendid. Medium bodied, dark fruit and peppery. A nice contrast to the lighter vino verde’s I’ve had a lot of in Portugal. A bottle of this in front of me would be dangerous. — 2 years ago
