Palate cleansing sherry. Fresh, but with body. Good with olives and charcuterie. On an exploration tonight being led by my worldly wine collector friend Alex. Stay tuned. — 8 years ago
Still extremely youthful with spice, tannins and acid very forward. This bottle looks like undisturbed but dropped significant sediment. Very focused nose and took time to open...should have decanted! But 6 folks tasting and it was impromptu without proper facilities at my conference room at China Live this afternoon with collector Jerry Tan. — 9 years ago
I won six bottles of Napa cab from my birth year at an auction. This was the first one I opened. Amazing how well this wine has held up over the years in unknown conditions. I was told that the previous owner was a collector. The cork was shot. I pushed it into the bottle. I then decanted through a strainer. I gotta say, right out of the bottle it was terrible. Obviously with a few hours of decanting, it improved. The nose was full of berries and smoke. The color was ruby. The taste was fantastic. Still lots of berry fruit, forest floor, leather. The finish was very long and overwhelming. My hat is off to the early farmers in Napa who pioneered this industry. — 9 years ago
Why am I such a shitty collector? My friends at Quilceda Creek ship me three cases.... Don't leave it in the cellar and drink it 10 years from now... No... Microwave the wife's ziti and crack a bottle... My God this is good... I could wax poetic; or simply wife... MY FAVORITE WINERY FOR A REASON!!! — 9 years ago
Love this wine! So smooth and easy to drink! — 10 years ago
This is the 2009 Siren's Lure from Wren Hop Vineyards. This wine is no longer available unless your in the Wren Hop Syndicate... Or find it at auction by a private collector. AMAZING pinot! — 11 years ago
The age here is 5 years on average — 11 years ago
Absolutely delightful. Fresh and Lively but with a huge helping of Earth and crushed rock making it super intriguing. — 7 years ago
Last bottle of the case. Wish I was more collector than a drinker-- sometimes. — 8 years ago
Heard great things about this value shiraz and didnt dissapoint. It is really quality shiraz and it is like baby canokilla. Good fragrant with dark berry and subtle minerality. The tannin is fine and quite a complex wine. Real good value for money — 8 years ago
Cos is a wine I have only tried a few times. A collector darling, most who collect it are fanatic only about Cos. Kind of like how Pittsburgh sports fans if you are familiar.
These were both exceptional. The 2000 showed some tertiary aspects in the nose, less so in the palate as a strong, tannic structure bolstered my thoughts of much further longevity than the nose hinted to. Flush with the firm and chewy tannin Saint-Estephe wines sport for more time than their southerly Medoc counterparts. Plenty of layered, savory and pristine black and red fruits fan out over the structure.
The 2005 is even more complex and dense and I would have to think will age at a glacial pace as this was just getting going from what I could tell as it was showing so young and tight.

Was not cellar worthy but okay Cabernet — 9 years ago
Tasted without a label. Asked the Somm of there was anything in the cellar that was not on the list. She said there was a bottle without a label, bought from a private collector, that that they wouldn't be able to sell. I offered to take it off their hands for $100.00.
With a little forensics, the cork revealed that the bottle was a 1948 Taylor-Fladgate Vintage Port!
Rich, smooth, with a velvet mouth feel.
Extraordinary acid, great balance. I was fooled by an immature sugar complex and guessed decades younger before the reveal. Old color, young taste. Extraordinary find! — 10 years ago

Cherry and spice at the end. California. — 8 years ago
Voluptuous yet very well balanced - excellent. — 8 years ago
Pretty good., drinking very well right now. In it sure that laying it down any longer would help it tremendously. Loved the dark cherries and well intergraded tannins. I thought it was going to be a massive wine but it was not. I would score this a solid 95. Picked it up from a private collector for $110. Awesome find for the money spent. — 9 years ago
...I am such a shitty collector. Only reason I opened this, was because Jamie is in town and we are watching Black Mass... John Depp should get an Oscar; Leo and the bear notwithstanding... My God... These grapes... YUMMY... — 9 years ago
Pizza Time Brooklyn Special and Trefethen... Baby Mack loving the pizza and Daddy loving the wine... This winery has been around longer than me (by a year) and it shows... Once again, this is why I'm such a shitty collector... Should probably be drinking this with a filet mignon and not pizza... Still; so, so good!!! — 10 years ago
Sena 2004 What a terrific wine. Very well built. Had us all fooled for a right bank Bordeaux. The carmenere was the wild card. Floral nose extremely delicate. This is a wine that every collector should try. A great representation for Chili! — 10 years ago
Not quite as exceptional as same bottle from same Collector 2 years ago. — 11 years ago
delicious wine and very nice — 12 years ago
