2001 vintage. Found this little gem in a dark spot at bottom of cellar. Forgot about it. Would have liked to open 5 years ago but fun to see what evolves. A dearth of fruit but plenty to enjoy. Finishes a tad tart but lots of tobacco which is superb with the Cohiba in my hand. Happy Holidays! — 9 years ago
Floral hops character with a touch of caramel maltiness. Nice but a bit thin in body. I may need to change to a better accompaniment to the best in world Cohiba Behike cigar. This second production of Behike is my favorite with deep rich tea, cream, and leather. Cigar is an absolute 10. Upon reflection, the beer is somehow nicely mirroring the flavors of the cigar, so I've upped my rating. Not a bad pairing at all. — 9 years ago
Blackberry jam. Communion wine (Catholic, not Anglican). Cohiba skins. Terroir the day after it rains hard. Deep. Filthy. Reminds me of the first day I decided to punch a guy in the face for deriding my sister. Great wine for conspiring late into the evening. Or revolutions... Would be very good for revolutions. — 9 years ago
Beautifully resolved tannins and superb structure from whatever obscure varietal (temperaniltio?) they have in that small country west of France...😏
Fantastic with a bit of slaughtered cow off the grill.
It even holds up to a Cohiba Behike 56. — 10 years ago
Dark fruit, tart tannins, complex. I’d buy a case of this vintage and enjoy with a Cohiba from Havana 🇨🇺 — 8 years ago
I'm stunned. This is like smelling a freshly opened or perfectly kept fine cigar. I've never smelled such strong tobacco in a wine before. Taste is same. Like sucking on a Cohiba. Perhaps too much, but extra points for surprise factor. It could also be alcohol and tobacco deprivation after VT, but this really was good. Gets a bit less one dimensional after ~25 minutes and I get leather too. Like good aged hooded dragon leather. — 10 years ago
Decent dry Grenache-based rose for a nice sunny evening with a fine cigar. Cohiba Maduro 5: Absolute magic smoke with perfect humidity and deep mellow nuttiness, leather, sandalwood, cedar, spice box. Amazing subtle complexity that holds your attention and keeps you coming back for another draw. 9.8. Thanks Mark. — 10 years ago
Always a power drinker. Flavorful play with a Cohiba and my cheese plate. — 9 years ago
2010 - decent supermarket wine, since I can no longer be bothered to overthink my wines pre-weekend travel. Also, maybe it's sort of a fun game to discover the random Jensen's gem, or, maybe I'm just jaded. All of the above, most likely. This was decent paired with my Cioppini & Lake Arrowhead air. Exhibited lots of tobacco/cohiba aromas, and was easily guzzled. Tasty. — 9 years ago
Awesome with a cohiba and a cool night. A bit more austere than I'm used to but a wonderful treat. My first birth year wine. — 10 years ago
Russian River Supplication 2014: Sublime deep sour cherry barrel-aged intensity. Fantastic as ever. Cohiba Biheke 56: Double hologram on the label. Smooth subtle complexity including walnut, leather, tea, caramel, cream, and something like bacon fat. Tight pack but easy draw producing prodigious amounts of supple smoke. Easily within my top ten cigars of all time. This is a 10. — 10 years ago
