Thanks Cody Richardson for fun night. And LWR and a .45cal A1 — 8 years ago
Celebrating @Cody Cotten 's bachelor party downtown Austin. Lambert's BBQ is some of the best around! Decent wine list and zin and BBQ is a favorite pairing of mine. Never had this, but it's nice for the price. Definitely not a jam fruit bomb that some zins (Rombauer) are. More balance with spice here. Fruit preserves on the nose along with cedar. Medium bodied and better after at least 30-45mins. Blackberries, blueberries and black cherry. Cola too. Feels like a zin and Pinot combo the more I think about it. Here's to night #2 downtown Austin! — 8 years ago
One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. Total wine. From Cody. — 9 years ago
Bought this 2 years ago at Fort Sill OK when Cody graduated basic training. It is from an OK winery. Finally opened it to celebrate not thinking it would be so fantastic! Sweeter than I normally like but light, smooth and savory!! I am going to order some for Christmas!! — 10 years ago

Nice off-the-menu pull by @Cody Uzzel to pair with the bread pudding and tres leches. Pears, pineapple, and summer rain. — 6 years ago
We had several bottles of this with our Low Country Boil on a beautiful beachside summer evening. Everyone loved it! Very light, crisp and citrusy. Cody gave this to me in my birthday basket and I will definitely have to get more . It came from World Market. — 7 years ago
Medium ruby core with garnet edges. Aged characteristics on the nose with damp earth, a little espresso, a touch smoky, cinnamon and stewed plums. Medium tannins (6/10) and plus medium body. Dark cocoa on the attack of the palate intermingled with plums, black currants, black cherries and lots of spices. A bit of anise and the Petit Verdot coming through in the medium plus finish. Drink till 2018.

This is now my fourth South African wine (second from @Greg Ballington ) and this is definitely the best red that I've had. Gave it about 45-mins of air time and it improved through an hour and a half. Red in the glass, which I'm finding common for South African cabs. Not extremely fruit dominant, but not dominant in any other note either. A balance of cherries, cranberries, tobacco and graphite/lead on the nose. Good weight to it on the palate. Cedar and rhubarb accentuate the finish. A very enjoyable cab blend and I expect it to be firing on all cylinders the second day. Probably at its best in 7 years or so. Many thanks again for introducing this to me, Greg! My buddy @Cody Cotten , who visited South Africa a while back, really loved this as did I! — 8 years ago
Gift from laurie and cody. 2013 vintage. Smooth! — 9 years ago
Pre-NYE bubbles. This is terrific. Peach, some vanilla and raspberry. Delicate but not too soft. Still some substance. I wish all of my Delectable friends a happy and healthy New Year. Drink great wine and be with friends, family and loved ones. @Shawn G. An amazing malbec. Gift from trish (cody) enjoyed with Carmen. Had it with ravioli and a sauce Paul made. — 6 years ago
One of the NYE bottles, contributed by my good buddy @Cody Cotten , who brought this back after his visit to Italy a month ago.
Dark ruby in color; awesome aromatics of charred rose petal, cherry tobacco, saddle leather and plum. Rich on the palate up front with blackberry, fig and dates but the mid palate and finish turn more underripe black cherry. Slight iron finish too. I’m really selective about the Italian wines I enjoy, and this was very good, and will likely be killer in 3-5yrs. Thanks Cody! — 7 years ago
Kicking off wedding weekend for @Cody Cotten !
Myself and the other best man are really enjoying this...hands down, the BEST tequila I've ever tasted. So incredibly pure. No burn to be found on this. Unreal. — 8 years ago
Drank at Hughes house and again with Cody and Ranai over Memorial Day weekend — 8 years ago
I would say this is in-between a cab lovers Pinot and your typical Pinot. Not quite as heavy, but the plum and texture on the tongue lean me towards cab style. I loved it. Then again, hard to beat RRV pinots. Bing cherry, cola, Cedar and baking spice. Happy birthday @Cody Cotten ! — 8 years ago
Stunning and on point. A real treat to share this with @Krystal Vento and @Cody Uzzel — 9 years ago

Birthday celebration for @Cody Uzzel at Lucio’s with a bunch of friends. All wines (except sparklers) tasted blind.

This was a nice treat and was served as the introductory red for the evening. Plump, round, gamey, savory, and bursting with flavor. Nice profile that only became more refined as time passed. — 6 years ago
