Clos Martinet

Venus La Universal

Venus Tarragona-Falset 2015

Flagship wine from Venus La Universal, one of Montsant’s most exciting producers, led by husband and wife team René Barbier (Clos Mogador) and Sara Pérez (Mas Martinet). Elegant blend of Garnatxa (50%), Cariñena/Carignan (40%) and Syrah (10%) from organically farmed vineyards on clay-calcareous soils between Marçà and Guiamets, in Southern Catalonia. Juicy, sensual. Red fruit and balsamic notes. — 6 years ago

Priorat Tempta Cion 2009

Trotz der 14,5 recht schlank, schön würzige Nase, aber auf die Dauer doch recht eintönige Frucht und zu wenig Tiefgang, gut gemachter Mainstream der schmeckt — 9 years ago

2009. Soft, plush, berry fruit driven, effortless. Priorat that goes down a little too easily. But no one's complaining when it does. #WorkWine — 10 years ago

Priorat Red Blend 2004

This is the 2004. Black fruit, spice, dry earth, black tea, talc, sweet prunes, toffee, caramel, something just starting to be smoky, and an aged-Riesling petrol effect come through on the nose. Palate is beautifully balanced with a slight brightness and a strong pencil lead texture. Finish is long and fantastic. Wow. Nice wine at a nice time. — 10 years ago

Whoa. Charcoal, brambly dark berries, flint, tobacco, a hint of mint, rich and high toned - huge bass notes that turn into a beautiful crescendo. That's a wake up call. — 9 years ago
